as much as i respect Rafa and the work he is doing for us, i dont trust him............nor do i trust anyone else in football, i never take any coments as gospel..nor should anyone else, so there has been no concrete evidence about him leaving.. The only concrete evidence we have for him to stay is the 3 year contract.......and contracts mean nothing these days. Our own steven gerrard actually considered leaving us for chelsea!! after going through that, anything else seems possible. seems pretty obvious that when a club like Real Madrid come looking for Benitez.....no doubt in my mind that he has to be tempted.

Has proven himself in the spanish league Has proven himself in the champs league has said he`d like to manage real madrid at some stage And..of course the guy is spanish.. some bloody weird choices on here... Leonardsen for one wasnt the best player i admit, but he did a decent job in some games and certainly wasnt inept.. cisse, well he scored 2 in the super cup final and a pen in the champs league final.....so regardless of how he does from now on, i would never call him inept. also camara was bought as a stopgap and did a good job,scoring some important goals.. For me,id go for paul stewart we paid alot of money for him and he was simply awful

70`s - Heighway 80`s - can only be king kenny 90`s - tough one this Barnes was still excellent in the first couple of years...but overall gotta go for fowler 00`s - gerrard

whenever i think of racism in football, only one image sticks in my mind.. John Barnes and the pathetic abuse he got in his first merseyside derby at goodison... The way he was treated that day not just as a player but as a person was disgusting.

but wouldnty moving gerrard completely disrupt our current set up.. Facts speak for themselves and since Gerrard was moved to the right we have been excellent. Also we dont have anyone good enough to replace Gerrard on the right, added to the fact that the Gerrard - finnan combination works extremely well, Finnan has benefited from having Gerrard in front of him and seems to set up a goal every week.. Having garcia or cisse on the right isnt gonna work in my opinion.... So rather than disrupt what has worked for us so well in the past 3 months, id replace sissoko with hamann...and move alonso slightly forward and have hamann protecting the back 4.

well hamann will be the obvious replacement......and what a replacement! Dont think Rafa will mess around with the midfield too much, i reckon Gerrard will still be our main man on the right.

i hope im wrong, but as good as finnan is....he gives me the impression of one of those fantastic players while at the club, yet forgotten the moment he is gone.. anyway from our current squad.. Fowler,gerrard,dudek,carra thats about it for me.. Unsung legends.. hamann,finnan,hyypia
