1st half - we looked comfortable without posing too much of a threat. Our passing wasn't quick and accurate enough to create any man advantage up top. 2nd half - it must have been some half-time talk by Rafa. We came out all guns blazing and played like a different team. Spurs could not live with us on this performance (I doubt many other teams would have been able to). About our new boys: Kuyt took his goal very well and is starting to look more and more comfortable in this league. Agger - looks like he's been in the Premiership for a number of years. We need to realise his age and inexperience in this league though. He will make mistakes as he gets to grip with the game in England and we need to accept those early mistakes. The danger is expecting too much from him and putting excessive pressure on his young and inexperienced shoulders. Hopefully Rafa will keep him grounded. Gonzalez - starting to look like the player that Rafa said he is. Getting better and better running at pace with the ball. Bellamy - it's obvious that he has the skill and the hunger. He may be trying too hard at the moment and may need to calm down and relax a bit (like that will ever happen!). Aurellio - looked comfortable coming off the bench. Good understanding with Riise. It will be interesting to see how Rafa decides to employ him.

Reina - 7 Had very little to do but looked comfortable. Finnan - 7 Solid, if unspectacular performance. Hyppia - 7 Comfortable; still hoofing the ball at times. Agger - 8.5 Very composed on the ball. Gives us an extra option by coming forward with the ball. Riise - 8 Looked up to speed on his return to the squad. What a goal! Gerrard - 7.5 Only looked effective in the second half. Very anonymous in the first half. Sissoko - 8 Broke up the Spurs midfield play consistently. Looking better going forward. Alonso - 7 Solid performance. Still not up to hios usual high standards though. Gonzalez - 8 Looks good running at pace with the ball. Composed finish for the goal. Bellamy - 7.5 Is possibly trying too hard for his first league goal. Gives us a very good option up front. Kuyt - 8.5 Was constantly involved in our forward play. Great drag down for the goal. A Kop idol in the making! Subs: Garcia - 7 good controlled performance. Showed good vision for pass to Kuyt for the goal. Aurellio - no rating Carragher - no rating

1. Kuyt - it's been a while since we had a striker that inspires so much confidence. Great flick and strike for the goal. 2. Sissoko - didn't allow Spurs players any time on the ball. Responsible for Spurs lack of scoring opportunities 3. Agger - was composed every time he had the ball. May turn out to become our best ball-playing centrehalf since Hansen.
