Tha post on TIA is from a NITK. Not in the know. lol

Then again there's always the possibility the selling club wouldn't sell at what Rafa was willing to pay, so we bought no new striker.
-
We've scored more goals than last season. We've kept fewer clean sheets this season. We've let in 22 goals this season. And people are arguing the toss about a backup striker? Maybe we need to look at the defense. Crazy thought I know.
-
I think it is a decent idea. However, isn't the drawback the Reserves seem to have one match a month. I remember Rafa complaining that the reserves hardly ever play.

On your first point, their reputations? Come on. Be realistic. They themselves will sell at their approved price. Their reputations have f*** all to do with it. If Saudia Arbia, DIC, Chinese, Russians or anyone else wants the club, there you go there's their price. Reputations won't make them drop their price. Nor will SOS claiming they are liars. So what. Big business is big business and there are few lilly whites in it. They all know the score. Those that buy and those that sell. As for Moores. I doubt he or Parry will ever come clean. Probably due to confidentiality signings when they sold the club. Even if he did admit reservations--now, that is hindsight. If anything what may transpire is the truth as to why DIC walked away. And that may be embarrassing for them. -
Greed. An investor coming in now can put up X amount for Y of the club. And not take the full risks rather than if they want to buy the club in total. So it's a matter of coming in to help finance the stadium and leave with the profits at some point in the future.

Yes. Next summer after we win the League.

Yep, will have to agree with this. The nagging question I have is that, regardless of what the numbers were in the march, why hasn't SOS got more members? Especially local season ticket holders. G&H won't worry about urchins on a march. They will worry about season ticket holders and their views. To often SOS ( or those who want G&H out) go on about whoppers and day trippers. When the short facts are the vast majority of those who attend a match are season ticket holders and regular match goers ( those that call in, use the internet, etc to get tickets to a match.) -
Could be G&H are happy to let the Prince chat away and keep people from sniffing out who they really are talking to about investment or selling the club to.

With so much speculation it's easy to get confused. Didn't Hicks say or claim that someone can buy in up to 25%. Which means 12.5% from both of them, with G&H remaining in charge. Sounds as though someone is mixing up--- that one scenario--- of buying into the club and trying to claim it means someone will be able to purchase 50% from George and 25% from Tom. My 2p worth or worthless, is that Hicks is not going to relinquish control and step aside to be a minority owner. Hicks said he would never do another 50/50 deal again. So if Gillett is going to sell he will sell 49% to whomever and 1% to Hicks. Or as both have said if someome comes in with silly money they'll both sell. Chances of a sugar daddy with silly money is to remote to consider at this point. As for the Prince, he's enjoying the limelight and the promotion of his F6 organization all due to the Academies and some potential Nascar thingy. So we watch the media and all their consternations and hot news stories over what will probably end up to be much ado about nothing other than Academies.

My bad...

And lower ticket prices to a fiver..

The problem with Big Kev is that he does score more goals than Heskey but he commits more fouls throwing those elbows which give possession back to the other team. Wasn't there a stat he committed the most fouls last season? Edit: let me make that a bit clearer. Balls pumped into him means lost possession more often than not. Which may be why Capello prefers Heskey.

If Hicks sells the Texas Rangers and clears THAT debt, doesn't that make things more attractive for RBS. By that I mean there is less debt owed by Hicks and more cash in his account because Hicks won't be selling the Rangers at a loss. Not sure how much profit he will make though. It seems Merrill Lynch wanted Hicks to have less debt. Many in here expected that meant he had to sell us. But it seems Hicks wants to consolidate his hold on LFC as that is where he will make money down the road.

Sorry to see him get the sack but it was inevitable as it was Sky and the media who kept questioning him about it, which means fans keep talking about it and pestering the Chairman. Tranmere isn't the only club to be near or at the bottom of the table why doesn't Sky go after every manager in the bottom three and repeat for a few weeks when are you getting the sack. Eventually they all will. When the media start in, it is inevitable really. Few survive the inquest.
-
Which if taken at full face value may mean he wants to be a third party investor and doesn't want to get involved in owning 25% or whatever and face being a "marriage counsellor" between the two of them.

What pass did Rafa misplace? What attack did he breakdown? Where did he play someone onsides so they could score? Rafa didn't lose the match , the players did. He put out a team very capable of winning. He was pissed off because they didn't perform. Maybe the 6-1 gave them to much confidence. Maybe Gerrard and Carragher need a kick up the backside. Maybe the whole team does. But it seems he gave them one at half time and the second half we were much better. Had we started the match that way, then we might just have won it.

Looks like Hicks might get some money sooner rather than later. Report: Ryan could join group bidding to buy Texas Rangers 07:37 AM CDT on Friday, September 25, 2009 By JEFF WILSON / Special Contributor to The Dallas Morning News OAKLAND, Calif. – Two more bidders for the Rangers have been identified, and one of them has had conversations with Nolan Ryan about joining his investment group. Ryan, the Rangers president, said that he has had conversations about becoming a minority owner with Chuck Greenberg, a sports attorney in Pittsburgh who also owns two minor league teams and a sports consulting firm. While he hasn't joined Greenberg, Ryan also hasn't ruled it out. A source said that if Ryan comes aboard, he would continue to oversee all aspects of the club. "I've visited with Chuck Greenberg several times when they were in the process of looking at the organization," Ryan told MLB.com. "There is a possibility I could be involved. Right now, I'm in the mind-set of waiting for this thing to develop. It's still in the early stages." Ryan, who was traveling Thursday, did not return several phone calls. Greenberg and Rangers owner Tom Hicks declined to comment. A source confirmed that Greenberg and Houston businessman Jim Crane have submitted bids to purchase the Rangers from Hicks Sports Group. Crane, who founded Crane Worldwide Logistics and also was a bidder for the Chicago Cubs, did not return a phone call. It was reported earlier in the week that former sports agent Dennis Gilbert, an executive with the Chicago White Sox, has also made one of six initial offers for the Rangers. The eventual sale could also happen sooner than has been anticipated. While many reports suggested the process could linger into spring training, a source said it could happen sometime in November. A sale would have to be approved by the other 29 major league owners. Greenberg has experience as a club owner, albeit at the minor league level. He owns Class-A teams in State College, Pa., and Myrtle Beach, S.C., and formerly owned a Double-A team in Altoona, Pa. The Altoona club, which he sold in 2008, was named the top minor league franchise in 2006 and won the McPhail Trophy in 2004 for marketing efforts that included an assortment of innovative promotions. Rookie shortstop Elvis Andrus played for Greenberg's club in Myrtle Beach in 2007 before being traded to the Rangers organization. Greenberg also assisted hockey great Mario Lemieux in the purchase the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1999. The Penguins were in bankruptcy when Lemieux stepped in with Greenberg's help. Hicks' financial difficulties have forced him to consider bids for the Rangers. Ryan, like Greenberg, owns two minor league teams. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...n2.4c06b0c.html

Agree that Lucas and Fab didn't exactly hit it off first half. Second half they were better. Lucas had to cover for Fab a number of times and that exposed us. Yeah, Lucas missed a header but so did Gerrard. One of those days. A win Sunday and the world will realign.

Here's my take on what's going on having read all the various articles. George and Tom are both looking for an investor to come in where they both have agreed to sell 12.5% each or 25% of the club. George works his Nascar angle and the Academy deal with the Prince who agrees to the deal. Prince comes to Liverpool to sign it and thinks he might as well try to buy into the club. Announcment goes out on Saudi tv the Prince is interested in buying half the club or maybe even the whole thing. George and Tom are unaware of the Prince wanting to buy into the club as that was not the reason for the trip to Anfield. Media reports the Prince has agreed a deal and people get wound up it is to buy some or all of the club. But the deal agreed was for the Academies and something to do with Nascar. Sums are bantered about from 200-350mil. Which makes little sense to those trying to figure out why the large variance. Could the be difference between 25% and 50%. Or could be the difference of buying into the club AND part of the stadium. No one knows. Prince talks about 3-4 months for due dilligence and the club come out with an announcement there's no deal in the works. Which means G&H have asked him to "show us the money". Stay tuned.
-
Well I bet the Saudi Royal bank will give him good rates. And because it is a new company, I would suspect a bunch of PR is to be had by having their name linked to us. The question is though, is this a serious attempt to buy 50% or all of the club?

battal : Your company F6 has not completed its first year so far, you are able to pay half a Billion dollars for owning Liverpool? Damn good question that one. Not even been in business a year yet.
