Think there's been far too much criticism in this thread. It was ultimately a comfortable win against a capable, motivated team three days before our biggest game of the season. Admittedly, Alonso and Lucas had a few wobbles, but they had their moments too. I thought Lucas was very good in the first half. He needs time to adapt; he's young and new to English football. Not everyone can settle as quickly as Torres. Alonso's not had the best season, but he hasn't suddenly lost it. If he stays, he'll rediscover his consistent best and form a great axis with Mascherano and Gerrard. Thought we were excellent in the first half, but, rather than play poorly in the second, we seemed to be prepared to sit on our lead and invite Everton to break us down. I can understand doing that if we're one up against the likes of Man Utd or Chelsea, or if we were winning by a greater margin, but I don't really like seeing this approach in situations like todays - we've attempted it before this season (Wigan springs to mind) and come unstuck. OK, it worked today, and we'll probably be fresher in midweek because of it, but Everton needed only to convert one free-kick and all our hard work would have been undone. I wish we would play at a higher tempo and attack more often, like we did in the first half - I'm sure we'd more successful for it. I'm not Riise and Kuyt's biggest fans, but I thought they were really good today. If Riise played like that every game, his place wouldn't be in any doubt. Kuyt's workrate was unbelievable. Strange, for a striker, that his worst attribute at the moment seems to be his shooting. I think, ultimately, it's this lack of end product that will see him sold in the summer or sidelined more often next season. I hope we continue to play Carra, Skrtel and Hyypia like we did today for the rest of the season (for the tough games, at least). Skrtel's developing really well and Hyypia's arguably in the form of his career. Carragher's probably the weakest of the three form-wise, but has played well at right-back of late. I'm hoping we see more of Arbeloa next season. I hope there's no friction in the camp. Carra looked upset at something at the end of the game, and Rafa and Gerrard seemed a bit gloomy in their post-match interviews. On the plus side, I'm hoping Rafa trimming his goatee means the Americans' reign is about to come to an end...
