  1. We had two legitimate shouts for penaly there. None given. Instead a soft free kick in the dying seconds against Benayoun was given. Says it all, really. Oh hold on, same ref that didn't show off Rooney against Chelsea.
  2. Same here actually - strange feeling...
  3. That site drives me crazy too, but there's a solution: http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/...ague/Liverpool/Top+Rated+Sources+Only
  4. Thanks Gerry! Seems the Guardian report of a 12M Euro buy out clause was full of s**** then. Cazorla rejects Real, renews with Villarreal 1 hour ago MADRID (AFP) — Spanish international Santi Cazorla, who was being chased by Real Madrid, has renewed his contract with Villarreal, Spanish media reported on Wednesday citing his agent. Real had offered to pay the 23-year-old player's buyout clause of 16 million euros (23.6 million dollars) but Villarreal demanded 28 million euros for the attacking midfielder, news radio Cadena Ser reported. Talks between the two clubs reportedly broke down on Tuesday night. Cazorla, who helped lead Spain to victory at Euro 2008, then signed a new contract with Villarreal, Marca quoted his agent Julio Llorente as saying. The player and Villarreal president Fernando Ruig will appear at a press conference later on Wednesday, the club said on its website.
  5. Riera this, Downing that: just read in the Guardian that Real are looking to take Santi Cazorla from Villareal for a paltry 12M Euros. Same price range as Riera, then, and by what little I've seen the two do on a football pitch I find Cazorla the far more exciting player. Shame we never were in for him.
  6. Saw him too - he really made my day! Oh, and the Torres bloke too...
  7. Yeah, well spotted! Add a £1m testimonial on top of that, right? And the reduced price. MON's completely lost the plot trying to cover his ass on this one
  8. Why the hell don't he then?

  10. How about this for a starting XI: -----------Torres----------- -Babel----Aimar----Gerrard- ------Barry-------Masch----- Agger-Skrtel-Carra-New RB
  11. Eh? Coudn't be arsed to read thru all the pages. So I woudn't know. Please enlighten me!
  12. Has anybody suggested Berbatov for Elisha's frustrating and inconsistant player yet?
  13. That's it! Blame the blues****!
  14. My take on Babel is that he is not yet mature enough to influence the big games. He does seem to wilt under the pressure from a good defence, and he's not good at doing the chasing. All too obvious in European games. He's doing good against lesser teams where he has time and space to do his natural thing, and I believe that with time he'll come good on the big occasion as well. See how long it has taken for Ronaldo to even resemble a decent player against top opposition...
  15. He quit.
  16. Agreed! But the big question is, with Skrtel and Agger - if he returns as fit as he was - what do we do with Carra?

That's what I'm thinking aswell: if DIC can buy 49% on the condition that Thicks gets the other %, how on earth do we ever get rid of the texan then? Can somebody with business sense please enlighten me what DIC can do with a minority stake to make Thicks life as LFC supremo so miserable that he would prefer to opt out?

Cos as the majority shareholder he'll be the boss, and doing a lot of talking both in the boardroom and to the press. Don't particularly like the idea.... And how could he be ousted if he's got 51%? With DIC pumping money in he won't even go bankrupt with the 'LFC enterprise'. Or am I missing something here?

Perhaps it was translated from gulf arabic?! Or then again the DIC sauce might have a good insight in the english language...

Depends on what you mean by "working" mate. Hicks might to stay for a while yet, perhaps with a minority stake and a seat on the board. The stadium project venture might be set up as a separate enterprise to Kop Ltd, in which Hicks could even have a 50% stake. With such a scenario all get what they want; Gillett rid and with a decent stack of £, DIC a controlling stake, and Hicks a fair view to future value hike.

You can hire me for a ticket to Texas and a tenner...
  23. Me too mate, in comparison with the ones who don't seem to be arsed. But he's so slow and doesn't offer much discomfort to the fullbacks. For that reason only I'd like to start with Babel. Or even Pennant could do a job against the fairly stationary Italians.
  24. I actually knew a couple of decent manure supporters. This must be the other one.
  25. That's why I said it's the formation I see when I close my eyes... As I open them it's good ol' Dirk quirking around...
