I get that it's hard with all different nationalities in CL but I'd be very uncomfortable playing against Chelsea with portuguese referees.

I think Mourinho's reputation as some sort of tactical genius is quite undeserved. His strengths lie in motivating and forging a strong spirit in his sides as well as setting them up to be strong defensively, you rarely see him do any in-game changes that win games. In big games he's always defensive and looking to counter.

I'd start Allen and Sterling and play the diamond. Am quite excited about the prospect of Sterling running into the space left by Yaya Toure when he bombs forward.

Agree with this. Refreeing can never be perfect but it can easily get better. Have a video ref who can see two or three replays of a situation sit with a panic button to push for those decisions that are blatantly wrong.

Always impressed whenever I watch this team at the moment. They play just like the first team, on the front foot, dominating games (as well as being occasionally sloppy at the back, to be fair). They're all very comfortable on the ball as well which feels like a major change from a few years ago when there was always a few players with more physical than technical ability. It's so hard to judge which way players are going to go in their careers but while it felt in previous years that maybe 2-3 players could really go on and achieve something, the feeling I get with this team is that while probably just one or two will be able to make it at Liverpool, most will have very good professional careers.

That is insane really. Both Kompany and Zabaleta are on 8 and should have 3 more games before the deadline but now instead just the one.

That interviewer with Carroll after the game was absolutely beyond belief . "It's almost impossible for a centre forward to jump without the referee giving a decision against you, your arms have to go somewhere". Yeah sure but not in the keeper's bloody face!
