  1. I don't really see where Fabregas fits in. His pressing game is weak which is why he rarely plays in midfield for Barcelona, and I'm not sure what he adds to our front line. Great player, just not the right fit for us.
  2. Yep, means f*** all. Arsenal don't need him anyway. Would expect Chelsea and the Mancs to be all over him though.
  3. Nonsense.
  4. Nullifying his main strength. Classic Hodge...
  5. So I take it Roy still hasn't noticed how much better Hendo and Stevie are playing infront of, rather than next to, each other?
  6. Poor Jay Rodriguez. By time he's back from injury, his manager and whole team will have left!
  7. Don't think that's really comparable tbf. There were nothing other than general common sense saying that we should be allowed in. I think we got quite lucky there and that Uefa would have been well within their rights to not include us. No idea what's going on with FFP but certainly the words from lawyers before the sanctions were released were that they would then expect appeals, either from the sentenced clubs or other clubs missing out on CL on their behalf.
  8. Yep, such as taking legal action against UEFA/Man C, something that they really should do. Would have been interesting had Arsenal or Man Utd finished 5th as they wouldn't have rolled over and accepted things like Everton seems to do.
  9. For sale for €40m is the word. Then there are the separate issues of whether he wants to leave, wages etc. Surprised there hasn't been more rumours linking him to all the top english clubs yet really.
  10. And scored quite a few for Liverpool.
  11. I'd back Gerrard ahead of him anytime. When has Lambert ever taken a proper high-pressure pen? Huge difference from knocking them in in league games for average teams.
  12. Would anyone on here start Rooney? I don't particularly rate him anywhere but upfront anymore and in that position Sturridge is clearly better. -------------------Gerrard --Ox/Barkley/Milner/Wilshere ----- Hendo Sterling-----Sturridge-----Lallana Which is a pretty strong looking team that could do really well. I think Sterling could be one of the players of the tournament.
  13. Nah, talks of Xavi/Fabregas/Pedro etc leaving but Iniesta? No way.
  14. Very much doubt there's anything in the Robben rumours. They are just being lazily linked to every dutch player around at the moment. With Strootman being injured i'd doubt they'll actually sign any of them, perhaps Janmaat.
  15. Did he really? Would have thought it was just an old quote from when he was sold.
  16. I don't think they're similar at all. Insigne is fast, direct, scores goals. Would be a great signing from what I have seen. Doubt Rafa would like to sell him but he seems to prefer Mertens and Callejon so perhaps Insigne would push for it. I see it the other way around, think for the way they play under Guardiola, he along with Thiago are their best midfielders. Really don't get why we would be after Bony btw. Good player but can't see him fit us, would be good for Arsenal/Chelsea though.
  17. Once and for all, it doesn't matter when the transfer window opens. You can sign a player in March if you want, he just won't be eligible to play until the window opens. And since we don't have any games between now and August............
  18. It's a bit early to make statements like that, their current squad are not getting anywhere near top 4 I don't think. Whilst they will try and throw money around, who knows what quality they will attract. Think both ourselves and Arsenal are looking very strong with a few additions and then there's obviously Chelsea and City who will both spend big and will be doing so from a much better position than Man Utd. I think the points required for finishing 4th next season will probably be at a record high.
  19. They're old pals though. Starting to become a problem for Mourinho, the only ones left to attack are Pellegrini, who seems completely unbothered by him, and Wenger.
  20. Basically, this Ajax side is not very good. The whole Eredivisie was weak this year after loads of good players moved abroad last summer. Zwolle with a decent side and playing in pretty much the biggest game of the club's history. Game was a bit mad, being cancelled twice for flares being thrown on the pitch etc. Still a freak result, mind.
  21. Lost 5-1 to PEC Zwolle who had a decent season and finished mid-table, not really a minnow but yeah, terrible result for Ajax. Think Monaco have wanted to get rid of Ranieri since they came up to Ligue 1 really. Wonder who they'll go for now?

  23. While I rate Milner, I think its worth pointing out that 2nd half against us was probably his best game of the season. I think he was very anonymous in the run in for them as well as largely earlier in the season. Solid player who would fit in well with us but I very much doubt it would make sense financially.
  24. Fairly sure England would get 5 CL spots in that instance.
  25. Wondering about Barrett's line about looking to sell Aspas and Alberto back to Spain. There's not much money there, and with the season's they have had we're not likely to get much for them. I'd have thought there would be quite a few PL clubs interested in Aspas, we know Swansea were chasing him last year. Alberto is a bit of a mystery but he looks quite talented, a season on loan back in Spain should at least bump up his value for next summer.
