Allen has been struggling every game so far this pre season. We are in a desperate need of new full backs.

Yeah I think some let the West Brom and Fulham mistakes influence their judgement of him a bit too much, he's all right.

I just think it's very short term thinking. For me Kolo is good enough to come in for a few games plus he's great to have in the squad with his experience. Keeping Coates as back up will mean he'll probably have gone 4 years without regular football come next summer which is a shame for a clearly talented guy. It's an interesting one I think, curious to see how Brendan is thinking. Perhaps he wants the option for a back 3 again which changes things a bit.

What good is that going to do Coates? At best he'd get a handful of games. Come next summer he would probably want to leave and his value would be very low.

Very excited about this guy, looks a terrific prospect. Reminded me of Sturridge quite a bit. Origi, Sterling and Markovic is an incredible group of attacking talent.

See no point in keeping either Coates or Ilori around a be backup and get the occational game, they both need to play. I'd rather keep Kolo as 4th choice CB.

I think he could do really well for them, would be a good move for all parties.

Not sure what his contract situation is like but a good loan move should benefit both us and him.

Always like the look of Jack Robinson. Doesn't seem like he'll have much of a future with us but I'd rather start with him and Flanno than Johnson and Enrique.

Despite his flaws Mignolet is way better than the 2011-13 version of Pepe, anyone who thinks differently need their memory checked.

This is the right answer. One of the main reasons that Holland played 3 CBs is because they're all mediocre.

Seemes all set for PSG but apparently they're trying to get him on loan for a year and then buy him next summer in order to get around their FFP restrictions but Real doesn't seem too keen on this (the Luiz purchase just get madder and madder). €60-70m asking price, I guess massive wages, how old is he, 27? Doubt we'd be into that but maybe not impossible. Him and Isco do seem like the most likely big name options around though.

Where would he get games alongside better players? Good move I think, hope they'll play him CB.

Well they are bringing in a £70m player in his position... And if a player we can get in on loan is better than whats available to buy then surely it's a good solution. Would improve our chances to buy him next year as well.

Lucas was holding with Can and Allen in front of him. Can seemed to be looking to make forward runs repeatedly.

Agree with all of this. I just wonder if he can add that to his game, seems to lack a bit of intensity and work rate. A loan move to Swansea/Southampton would be great for him I reckon.

Eh, based on watching him both in person and on tv. I spend quite a lot of time in Holland.

This was always Arsenal's plan since building the emirates wasn't it? Stay in CL with mininal spending until everythings more or less repaid and then reap the rewards of the increased income. They're in a very strong position.

We probably have more money than we can spend this summer, investing it in the future is the right move IMO. I think people need to come to terms with that FSG's model is one of building for the long term by signig young players. We are simply not in a position to sign Reus/Hummels/etc yet. Get real. Not even Real/Barca could sign Neuer.

Bakkali is a massive talent. Higher ceiling than Depay IMO. Been talk of his attitude not being great but I think it's mostly PSV being pissed off he's not extending his deal. Find a good club for him to develop on loan for a year or two and he could turn out an absolute steal.

He really was terrible. Would be very surprised if he made much of an impression in the PL. I'd rather Assaidi...........
