  1. I honestly don't think that has anything to do with it. Most players in the world would be interested in a move to Real Madrid at any time. With spanish players I'm sure the temptation is even bigger and this summer, with the signings they have made, you can't really blame Xabi. I think this is the risk you take when signing spanish players, if they get good enough, Real and Barca will always come knocking. This is why I'm a also a bit worried about Pepe, but the fact that Casillas and Valdes are about the same age as him should keep them away. In the same way, I don't think there is any chance that Fabregas remains at Arsenal for more than a couple of years. The difference (hopefully) though beeing Torres who has already experienced what it's like to be a star back home and now knows how much better things are at Liverpool. Still think Rafa should f*** Real off though and keep Xabi, would be a shame for him to leave England without a league winners' medal.
  2. I read that the game was from 2005 and was convinced it was from 04-05 without really thinking about it. Typed in Dudek as keeper like five times before I realised
  3. Spain has been really poor in this tournament. Perhaps not so strange though since half their team is at the confed cup. England haven't really impressed either just yet, will be interesting to se how they fare against germany. Interesting tournament this, should be a great game this afternoon between Italy and Sweden.
  4. All right, so Capello buys him from Ajax and plays him every game in Juventus as they win back to back league titles. Mancini brings him to Inter where he has carried the team on his own, winning the title every year. Earlier this year Mourinho claimed Zlatan was the best player in the world and now Guardiola wants to buy him to one of the strongest Barcelona teams ever. But hey, why let any of that stop you from saying he's s***?
  5. Brilliant news this. Hopefully they'll spend it all on Tevez, Benzema and Ribery which will definately weaken them.
  6. I love Rafa Liverpool FC boss Rafa Benitez warns Barcelona £50m would not buy Javier Mascherano Liverpool FC boss Rafa Benitez warns Barcelona £50m would not buy Javier Mascherano Jun 10 2009 by David Prentice, Liverpool Echo RAFAEL BENITEZ today warned Barcelona to drop their interest in Javier Mascherano because “even "£50m would not be enough to sign him.” Warning bells rang at Anfield today when the Argentine international's agent appeared to be paving the way for a bid from Barca. Walter Tamer, Mascherano's representative, said: “It is an honour for Javier that a club like Barca pay such close attention to him. “He would have a very easy job there. "Sometimes we talk and joke that the only thing he has to do is run, rob the ball and pass it on to all the superstars in front of him.” Benitez was so concerned by the reports that he cut short a family holiday today to issue a clear hands-off warning to the Catalan club. “Mascherano has no price,” he declared. “Barcelona could not afford to match his value to Liverpool Football Club. “We do no want to sell and Javier is very happy here. “I have spoken to Javier two or three times this summer – the last time was only last week – and he was very happy, very positive. “He gave me the private number of his agent, Walter Tamer, and again the conversation was very positive and was all about football. “Walter told me that two clubs with big, big names were asking after Mascherano – and I told him to forget it, that Javier was happy in Liverpool and he was not for sale. “So I was surprised to see the agent's comments today. “He has a long contract and any club can forget about bidding for him. They can offer $40m or even $50m, we don’t want to sell.” The recent worrying financial report about the level of Liverpool's debts has encouraged clubs to consider bids for influential Reds stars like Mascherano. But reports today suggest that Tom Hicks and George Gillett will be given the green light by Royal Bank of Scotland and Wachovia to refinance their £350m loan from next month's July 24 deadline. The extension could reportedly cost up to £3.5m for the arrangement fee, with interest payments – approximately four per cent above the banking rate.
  7. Love them all really. Xabi, Pepe, Gerrard, Torres, Arbeloa... But the one that stands out för me has to be Danny Agger, just such a classy player.

  9. Xabi Kuyt Arbeloa
  10. Agree, but: Valdes, Abidal, Puyol, Pique, Alves vs Reina, Aurelio, Carra, Skrtel, Arbeloa Is where we really beat them..
  11. Torres Insua Mascherano
  12. Torres Insua Mascherano
  13. Inter are terrible compared to the top teams in England and Spain, so it's not exactly easy for Zlatan to win those games by himself. He has had a lot of great games against top serie-a sides as well as a couple of brilliant international games against top quality opposition. He is a world class player, probably number 4 in the world at the moment behind Gerrard, Messi and Torres. He's only problem is that he plays for crap teams...
  14. Brilliant finish that.
  15. Lucas Gerrard Hyypiä
