The big question is how to handle their full backs. Go 433 and Suarez will need to do a big job defensively. Play diamond and Henderson/Allen will spend a lot of time in wide ares and whoever plays at the apex will need to drop deep. If we go diamond though their full backs might not dare to bomb on in the same way as they will be left in a 2v2 situation, and well, all the best.

Was thinking this myself. What are the actual rules for this? Is a handball foul the same as a physical one when it comes to goal scoring opportunities? It seems the only way you can get a red for handball is by saving a goal bound shot, but then it is for denying a goal (as seen with Oxlade-Chamberlain's rescinded red).

I guess a counter argument would be our 2nd pen though where even now after numerous replays people are disagreeing about the decision. I still agree with your point though.

Considering that Martinez was their second choice and also that they approached De Boer previously, whoever was involved in the recruitment process deserves great credit.

That goal is great and a perfect example of why Rodgers wants his teams to play it out from the back. The passing between the defenders and ultimately Flanagans turn takes out their whole front five. Bentaleb is left all alone with Coutinho running against him and behind him our whole front 3 plus Johnson is running at the defence. There is no way they are getting out of that situation without conceding, I think it would probably have been a goal if Coutinho had slipped it through to either one. Fantastic stuff.

It really dawned on me seeing their fans celebrate securing fourth last season as if it was the league title, just how their expectations have been skewed. Sure we would all have been delighted if we would have done the same but only because it brings us closer to where we want to be, for them it seems to have become the be all and end all.

It feels like everyone is viewing our team differently which is causing confusion, perhaps understandably so since BR keeps changing the formation ever other game. There's a lot of mentions of a defensive midfielder but with us lately only playing one at a time and already having Gerrard, Lucas and Allen we are surely well set. What we need is someone to challenge Henderson/Allen/Countinho in the other midfield positions.

I'd love them to get PSG. Zlatan would destroy them.
