Time out everyone! I think we're all forgetting the real purpose and value of this forum ...and that is talking s***e and engaging in petty squabbles as an alternative to attending to any of our real life jobs/responsibilities. Let's not fall out and forget why we're here

Match Topic Fulham vs Liverpool - Premier League, 6th April @ 2pm

Alright there Torquemada...that's not what I'm arguing at all, an energised, early Klopp would've killed with this squad, and got more from Nunez,Elliot, Endo, Chiesa while doing so I'm saying Slot is not able or willing to do that with fringe players so I hope he gets his own Nunez next season, a 25-35 goal version...plus less brittle 1st teamers in key areas, plus a replacement for Trents creativity -

I do think it is fair to say Klopp could get more from fringe squad players compared to Slot, he's uniquely strong that way I acknowledge the core group have already done enough to win it and there's his vindication It's also seems apparent to me at this stage that we're flagging and in the face of stiffer competition from the likes of City and Arsenal we wouldn't have as big a points buffer, the race would be tighter... So I hope next season he has in his core group a proper striker, a less injured cb partner for Virgil, creativity to compensate for losing Trent, upgrade on Robbo, more pace more muscle in midfield...a squad to win it even vs full power City like Jurgen did -

I think it's fair to say Slot is not as good at squad management as Klopp was. The core players he's used extremely effectively are looking shaky and there's no alternatives he trusts...so, likely as it is we'll get to the finish line with his preferred group it's not looking pretty at this late stage. The title will be vindication for his methods but I really hope he can establish a sturdier and more dynamic core group for next season -

A Mac Allister screamer... but who are we kidding it'll be Salah
-
Agree...so when he inevitably leaves who are we comfortable with him ending up at?...for all our main rivals bar Arsenal he's an upgrade

Hopefully Gakpo fully back for this, we've missed him -
Alternatively maybe a bit of hard scrutiny on PGMOL now and then is worth it for the drama/outrage/clicks/content generated around "the product". The PL aren't interested or invested in it improving

That's the 2nd time this season they've reffed the occasion. At the final Goodison showdown it was obvious how they wanted to direct the nareative...last night it was always one eye on the most exciting spectacle ie the possible drama of little Everton denting our title run

We should add creativity to midfield but not at the expense of Dom, he has his flaws, notably his passing it isn't elite standard and that's what we need vs the low block we so often face in the league I don't know how Slot is going to address this, I'd be tempted to switch Dom and Mo sometimes in game
-
I think if/when we win the league you'd hope it triggers some leverage for Slot to have his squad demands satisfied this summer. .but also he would've come on board knowing we don't buy from the top shelf. So no Isak, it'll be potential like the palindrome lad, and a few other release clause lads. Kerkez seems likely given the Hughes connection I don't think we'll get anyone for the right side, it'll be Bradley with Quansah as backup. I think there'll be a Slot preferred alternative/upgrade on Endo and then depending on what we get from sales one more opportunistic signing like Chiesa

Barnes and Gerrard have to go in column A Allison and Virg too even though its early days, they could both yet f*** off somewhere and permostain their reps -
I can, and I think probably most of us can similitaneously hold contradictory positions re Trent As a man making a major life and career decision good luck to him As a briilliant football player who leaves our club for a rival team FUUUUUUCK him!

We need creativity in midfield, something like prime Coutinho or better in the Jones berth ...no idea who that would be, but if we're losing Trent we need to lash out the biggest money on this area plus striker We're not getting any more than 4 in over summer imo, 2 for big bucks and 2 cheapo potential. That's why I think Bradley defo will be 1st choice, he's shown he's good enough despite concerns over his fitness

They were itching to disallow it, even running the video back to see if Elliot fouled the Newcastle player in the building up... but no it was clean, bet they were gutted
-
The movement around and in front of him has fallen off massively, that's a definite factor. Our whole attack is a few yards short lately

Chiesa is not the answer long term but surely deserves to start ahead of Jota or Nunez, they were completely invisible, like playing with 10 -

I don't think the language thing makes any difference at all, he probably has enough English to chat with his team mates and understand the coaches, not enough to reliably do a post match/media thing It's just that he isn't good enough to be the no9 for Liverpool FC
