Just reading through this thread and won't regurgitate points made back and forth, but can we just clarify 1 thing.... Jose Mourinho has lost games at home, it is League games where he is unbeaten...... Chelsea I recall lost to Charlton in the League Cup and Inter lost to Panathiniakos in the Champions League. There may be others in there as well, but I keep hearing in the media and occasionally on here of his unbeaten home record. Great League record, no doubt. Secondly, Mourinho is clearly a great manager, but let's not forget that Inter have assembled a very expensive squad in Italy and he inherited a title winning side; Chelsea under Mourinho spent more than everyone combined and Porto have been Champions 13 times in the Champions League era; not exactly minnows. He hasn't exactly taken a Tottenham, a Parma or a Boavista to great success, he has had money and / or taken over a currently powerful club. Winning the Champions League with Porto was similar to Benitez for Liverpool, but give him this Liverpool side and there is nothing to suggest that he could overthrow Chelsea or Man Utd, and his style of football has never been flamboyant. Benitez is certainly not winning any new fans at the moment for Liverpool, but I think eric's earlier post highlighted why he hasn't exactly done s**** since he's been here. Yes, this season is poor, but it's not over and if anyone who took over this club with the current financial restraints and won the title, they would deserve a knighthood. Benitez by the end of last season was only bettered by Dalglish for Liverpool in percentage of League matches won (better than Paisley, Shankly), so let's give the fella some credit in a time where finance rules the roost more than ever before.
