I also think Gerrard is a bit of a problem. We all agree he's a great player, maybe the best this club have and will ever see.. but sometimes he just seems to don't want to rely on his teammates at all. And as he has so much respect amongst the players no-one tells him off to do otherwise. Wish he would play the simple pass more often, pass and move, yet he tends to always want to want to do the most difficult passes at all times.. we know he has the ability, but sometimes when we are playing oppositions that lie deep into their own half we need more patience in our game.. just some thoughts after some brilliant moves in the carling cup against chelsea without him, and his efforts against city.

Saying Insua was excellent is a bit much IMO. Lots of passes went stray, nearly Momo style when he's in the mood. Not saying he did bad, but far from excellent I think. Paletta still looks rough. Very physical. Gonzo hasn't added anything to our side so far, nothing new in this game either. El Zhar did well with the cross where Bellamy should've done better.
