  1. Hopefully the lad can get a good run without injuries now. He's always been an excellent partner to van dijk.
  2. Up front
  3. same here, i had a subscription but i dont think i ever read a full article, the journalists must be paid per word, and if so ,they all must be multimillionaires to!!!
  4. is it a typical Athletic article, as in, i'd need a spare week to read it all?
  5. That other lad they've had on preseason, thing local lad, has seemed more than capable
  6. people forget that, the 19/20 season, he was probably even better than Virg, he was absolutely outstanding. and even the seaosn he got the bad patella tendon rupture on England duty, he was outstanding in the few games he had pkayed after Virgs' ACL. the lad, when on form, is as good as any centre half in the world, he is that good.
  7. Great news, if he can get the form back that he had when he started the season we won the league, then we really do a have a crazy amount of superb centre halves at the club.
  8. is that the lad thats known to stay up all to hours playing computer games, misses training, is constantly injured and couldn't do any keepy uppies at his signing on media day?
  9. You're not far wrong, doesn't he drive an opel insignia
  10. few twitter rumblings on Nicola Barella from Inter. seems a near like for like with Wijnaldum, low centre of gravity, clean and tidy on the ball and very good in tight spaces. i wont deny id like a midfielder that scores 10-15 a year, but to be fair, is there any these days?
  11. Good to hear, there was talk of villa being in for him. So much happier now he's getting a new deal. I can only imagine how hard his patella injury was to recover from. I've had patella tendonitis for 10 years now and can't shake it, granted he's getting much better care and physio than I am. But he had a full rupture, so this season, with a bit of luck he'll be back to his best.
  12. Obviously hindsight is a great thing. But we really dodged a bullet on that one. But am I the only that thinks the players that come over from the bundesliga don't really hit the ground running in the Premiership? It's funny, the French and Portuguese leagues, in all honesty are fairly weak. But the players that come from both league never seem to have issues settling into the speed of the premiership. No idea why I might add.
  13. Exactly, if this lad can score the "unpretty" goals. He'll bag himself 25 a season without breaking sweat I'm not going to pretend and say I've seen him loads. I saw him against us, and that was that, but in those two games he proved he knows how to finish, that's for sure
  14. Probably more direct and a bit more of a poacher. I don't know about you, but ive often thought our conversion rate was poor at times. Hopefully this kid changes that
  15. tough life, only 23 million, i winder how he survives
  16. Do bayern really offer those kind of wages though?
  17. our second choice players tend to do better, so im not worried in the slightest.
  18. I wonder if klopp literally trying to clone van dijk with the signing on Konate. It's like the laptop boffins were given a mission of finding someone that's 6'4, quick as f***, strong as f***, and half decent on the ball. Klopp will simply work with him to make him van dijk 2.0
  19. here here, that must be heartbreaking to say the least. I wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy.
  20. Klopp does like him, i doubt he'll get rid of him.
  21. Perhaps, but don't we have a really good working relationship with salzburg, not just the minamino connection, but didn't we consult them on our new training ground, or something to that effect
  22. Some twatter chat on a Croatian kid from salzburg called luka sucic. Can't say I've ever heard or seen him play to be honest
  23. a few, Tcuohmani or whatever his name is from Monaco, rumours its been agreed since christmas. Nkunku, Tielemans, Bowen, Some other young lad from RB Salzburg, Jude Bellingham, and quite a few from the Portuguese league,
  24. id beg to differ. most kids that has played football/soccer over here have tried their hand at Gaelic at some stage, and lets be honest, they teach the kids how to catch footballs from a very young age in the GAA, i see it with my own 6 year old child. there's gaa camps a pkenty around, but f*** all soccer until 8
