Faster/easier to do loan & reduces sell on if loan fee reduces final fee Can’t believe we wouldn’t have gone for a CB and would have contemplated selling Klavan if club knew Lovren was out for unknowable amount of time with injury.

Utd look like they’re on for 75-80 again, cautious enough not to give up easy goals, talented enough to score at least one in most games. -
I’m guessing it’s either Milner or Fabinho in a midfield three with Gini and Keita. Don’t think we’ll pull out a new variation in this game

He’s a good lad, maybe they can find better without spending a fortune? Here’s a market in that position where City play a midfielder or centre back as reserve left back, where Man U play an aging converted winger as first choice & had to take up an option on Shaw as reserve despite the manger regularly slating him.

So that’s that Mainly positive, would be nice to have Fekir and a talented & durable centre half to add to the squad Best thing about prep is the bulk of the starting level players have had a summer off and a full preseason, especially Fabinho & Keita. Most of the rest have hopefully not been overly drained at the WC. Let’s go

He’s 32 and in the last year of his deal, so if he gets offered a massive amount more over a longer time, it would be odd if he turned it down

That’s it essentially. WC teams allowed him to have the ball and he generally did ok on it, but was often filtered into blind alleys. He’s very strong from set pieces. He’s not very mobile.

Yep, huge difference, era changing difference. My guess here is Chelsea thought they’d keep Courtois and Alisson would go to Madrid, or they’d sell and buy Alisson, no problem, and this Kepa cash is their budget for him. They don’t seem to have contemplated us getting players ahead of them, why else wouldn’t they have leaned on Kepa to save his renewal until the summer if they rated him so much?

If UTD buy Boateng, that makes Alderweireld a £25m buy next summer at 30yo because of his contract conditions. Would we go all out for him, pay included, or get a younger player like Tarkowski or Lachelles in for a similar fee?

On a free to succeed next year Milner would be cute. He’s got persistent fitness issues, hopefully for him it’s an Arsenal thing
