That bit about Madrid is basically them saying to him stay in the prem for 4/5 more years don’t sign an extension and we’ll get you at the end of that contract
Nico Williams doesn’t seem the most prolific of wingers though. Admittedly he’s not at the best of teams but I’d still expect more than 4 or 5 goals from that position.
But something that is entirely reasonable. If we just needed a number 9 and young lad to come in at say CB for arguments sake you could probably make a case for it but the fact we’re needing at least 4 or 5 new players with a finite budget then it seems sensible not to blow all our money on a striker.
Yeah and I think he’s played very forward under Alonso too and leverkusen have played a back 3 so would be a real change in set up for us to accommodate him or a change from the player to fit in with slot’s system.
James Pearce agrees…

podcast: As good as Bradley’s been - more his injuries than anything else - I think surely you have to get someone with a decent profile, someone like Frimpong from Leverkusen — speculation #LFC have been linked for a while
I don’t think we can afford to lose any of our CBs even if we do bring one in. Gomes provides cover across the whole back line and is HG but admittedly has limited availability, Quansah has been showing signs of improving and is ideal 4th choice, games will be there for him. Then we sign a new one as third choice and a view to replacing virg and being a viable rotation option. Lose quansah even if it’s on loan and we’d need 2 coming in IMO. We could then be losing virg on a free, suggestions Gomes is to be sold be even if not is hardly fit and that just leaves Konate with a year left on his contract as our only CB.
£30m seems cheap for a young England international who’s likely to have a premier league winners medal. Talk of £75m for guehi and north of that for branthwaite.
Yeah that’s how read that too. Also “since day 1” wonder then that was?
Probably doing that with huijsen. “Sign for Liverpool and sign a 5 year deal and then we’ll take you on a free at the end of that deal”
Good cos he’s also had this to say…
Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid—done deal! The English right-back’s agents, led by his brother, have sealed personal terms with Real Madrid for a 5-year contract, starting July 1st,
@SachaTavolieri
.
Don’t know whether this guy has any inside scoop or not but he mentions frimpong is slot’s preferred choice for replacing Trent
Arne Slot has never changed his mind: replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold with Jérémie Frimpong remains one of his main objectives for the next transfer window,
@SachaTavolieri
.
We have to keep Alisson next season. Kelleher will almost certainly be off and if that is the case to go from Alisson and Kelleher to Marmadashvilli and Jaros (or similar) would be quite a drop off.
The Internet must have heard us…

𝗡𝗘𝗪: Liverpool and Arsenal are PUSHING for Alexander Isak,
@FabrizioRomano
.
Depends on isak’s price. If there is a £40m difference that’s still kerkez fee paid for and it could be a bigger difference. Depends how far our money will stretch and how many players we want.
Don’t get me wrong I’d prefer Isak but it’s whether we can afford him in context with the bigger picture
Agreed on the first bit but if we only have a finite pot of money (which we do) and we want a large squad rebuild this summer then if ekitike is half the cost of Isak then it makes financial sense to spread the money about for more players.
As someone mentioned earlier it’s either one player in like Bellingham or szobozlai, Mac and Grav. If we can get ekitike plus one or two others of quality for the same price as say Isak then that may be the stance taken given the potential numbers we may need.
