The thing is Barry has been there for 10 years or so, hes given them decent service and wants to play in the Champions League with Liverpool, it winds me up when the media lump him in the same bracket as Ronaldo etc.

Just imagine if Rafa hadnt have stuck by him when he didnt score for 20 odd games, his career could have spiralled from there because he was a laughing stock. I liked him when he was a worker now he seems above that. I reckon we will look back and say that Rafa got this right

if you dont give the manager money (chelsea, man u) or the manager time and job security (Arsenal) you will probably find yourself in the position we are in. Martin Jol is not a bad manager but look what happens if the hierachy of the club start undermining the authority of the manager. Kuyt, Bellamy, Pennant and Crouch to some extent are players we had to buy to make do. Until we can compete at the top end of the market we will never compete at the top of the league. End of

So that means this new superstar striker is going to replace one of Crouch, Kuyt and Bellamy instead of Fowler, considering we only have four places for a striker. Basically what im saying is Voronin is taking one of those spaces so he better be better than what we already have. Innit.

I think that whoever goes will be compared to Voronin. I just hope Voronin starts well otherwise things are gonna be tough for him. I think Bellamy should stay, but Rafa might have seen him as a good bit of business to keep him for one season and to sell at the end of it for a profit eg. Kromkamp.
