The two centre backs we should be looking to work with for rest of season and beyond are Sakho & Lovren. Skrtel & Toure limited future prosoects the club. So need a right sided ball playing , strong in air , natural leader / organizer at the back . Somebody like Vidic when he was a sucess at MUFC.
-
If we are going to play 3 centre backs why not play Gerrard as the centre of the 3 with Sakho and Skrtel either side of him.
-
It doesn't make sense , Sanchez similar to Suarez I get , but to go from Sanchez to Ballotelli.!! If the criteria was to sign player like Sanchez how did they choose Ballotelli? Daft logic. Shows now that Ballotelli was a pure panic buy.
-
3 at the back works , get decent keeper in , Sturridge back , then move Henderson more central role , good options.
-
The direction thing is correct , we just seem to drift crisis to crisis. Think Rafa said same about club executive management at time been Parry, the whole fooking thing is sad, what is the transfer committee but decision making on signings to avoid direct blame of failure.
-
Taking the moneyball line, there was a part in the baseball film (I know) where the stats guy told the manager a certain player signed had to play at first base, now with all the changes in selection lately are we looking at selection by committee as well?

Mignolet is the red herring of all red herrings...so true the art of deflection ..everybody talking about Jones & Mignolet
-
sterling is not a natural finisher , in years to come he might turn into another Thierry Henry but bit harsh to laying into the young lad, victim of the insane slections lately.
-
Then I think that makes it worse , in nothing having a young keeper like McCarthy keeping the arrogant lazy fecker on his toes
-
If I remember right Mingolet was signed as a number #2 to put pressure on Reina. He was never a number # 1 keeper, criminal in building a squad that a proper # 1keeper was not signed whenReina decided he wanted nothing part of Rodgers plans.
-
Need somebody to hang out to dry for crap defence ? Art of deflection .
-
Can't get over the first goal conceded. What were Allen and Moreno doing ? Regarding Mingolet the world and his mother were shouting for a strong number #2 keeper during the summer. Plus a strong defensive midfielder. Can't help feeling the way this transfer commitee work is they allow Rodgers to sign a certain number of players balance are committee selections . So not sure how we got Mingolet, Aspas, Lovren, Ballotelli ,Allen or even Llalana but it's a complete utter mess as none of these players are leaders with balls to stand up and soak up the pressure of playing for Liverpool and as some london papers unrealistic fantasyful expectations . Tired tired tired of us be viewed as a basket case of a club living in the past . Deserve better from the players, manager and owners.

He is like somebody just throwing the dice up in the air every game hoping that he one day he will get lucky and hit on the right selection, formation and tactics.

Our defence cost us the league, take the Cardiff away which we won 6-3. They went at us with pace ,created lots of chances put the pace of our front 3 and genius of Suarez got us out of that one. Think our chances converted was something like 6 from 9 on target.Cardiff's was 3 from 3. Our keeper made 0 saves and we had only 1 block. And we conceded 3 goals to Cardiff, a team who were pure relagation fodder all season.
-
What's cost us the league was the goals conceded last season, a lot of people on this forum saidwe needed a god defensive midfielder to shield the back 4 ,eg Schneiderlin. Perhaps he made Lovren good for Southampton? Plus there were serious doubts about the keeper. For both key positions he didn't bother recruiting . Did we really need both Markovic and Llalana ? as for Suarez leaving , to replace £70 million of talent with £20 million of talent between Lambert & Ballotelli speaks for itself. Signings in that horrible word hindsight seem all over the place and were not really building a team for this season.

If Kenny is in the "God" position and looking down on the football operations , I doubt he will go for Nicol. Not sure who but can see him picking Clarke , Sammy Lee for examples as back room coaches involved in the club. Hard to know if FSG would ask Kenny and even harder to guess who Kenny would nominate
-
Future manager of club , had my doubts before had he got in him to be manager but the way he has done his post match CL interviews this season have been impressive . Honest , no BS and you can see players look to him to call the shots on the European stage. Get in an experienced manager now and tutor him next few years , club be better for it long term.
-
Why has Rodgers credit in the bank for last seasons team performance with FSG? Kenny didn't get much credit considering all he has done for the club. FSG would seem to regard managers are expendable to the overall goals of consistent CL qualification . Fail and you are out seems to be philosophy.
-
We will never be serious challengers or even top 4 challengers for the premier league with him. Won't happen , just be another version of Swansea or Southampton.

I think the general consensus on the forum would be that Rodgers is the lighting rod for anything that goes wrong in the background in the teams preparation or recruitment for each game. It's been generally commented on here that the first team coaching staff is too light in numbers and experience and some would favour more strong coaches to help him out . New 21st version of the Boot Room so successfully developed by Shanks & Paisley. Plus also this recuitment of players based on the money ball method at present by a committee of 6 does not seem to be successfully in the short term. Maybe in 2 years wee will see the benefits but if that is the plan it's been communicated pretty poorly. Plus a committee of 6 is the worst way of recruitment individual football talent , I would hope there is one decision maker on this committee who can if he wants go against the wishes of the committee and sign who he wants with certain amount of freedom eg transfer funds available. At present the support structure to Rodgers looks all wrong and we are suffering now as a result . I think any young , curtailed manager in this environment Klopp, AVB , or Martinez who struggle. It does undermine your authority as a manager when you are told we have no confidence in your recruitment of players . Plus this committee made up of money men, statisticians and scouts tell you who your signing every summer based on direction from FSG eg only players who cost this , this age profile or agent to be used. A lot of restrictions and undermining of authority. Who is really picking the team then if a manager can't sign , get in who they want ?

Sterling did well . One player with pace. Midfield more solid. Lambert up front did well but would have been better served working with partner with real pace like Sturridge. Skertel a joke. Toure is just Toure. You know what you get there. Full backs didn't offer much going forward and bit shaky at times . Goalkeeper is just a complete and utter waste of time.
-
He agreed to buy them along with this famous committee . No point in him in sulking.
-
Stupid substitution of sterling Cannot defend corners Plus should have won that But we still in it ... Amazing
-
Mignolet Gerrard Lovren Toure Moreno Can Lucas Coutinho Henderson Lallana Lambert
-
Would stick Gerrard in at right back Manquillo . As Moreno goes forward can become a back 3 But in general agree with above team and options from bench.
