    It’s definitely a thing, compounded by the fact that this season should have been about celebrating a monumental, 3 decade long effort to win the league. Instead, crickets and bad VAR calls. It would be like climbing Everest and coming back to an empty home with no one to celebrate the achievement with. That must be emotionally exhausting.

    Everyone responds differently to COVID, and it seems like for Mane the recovery hasn't been as rapid as some of the others (similar to Laporte, apparently). with time he should hopefully get back to terrorizing defenders like we know he can. But even then, he's a versatile player and there's a world where he becomes more of a winger/midfielder or a striker in a pairing to great effect. I'm not worried about him long term.

    The key for us now is to stop trying to play like Liverpool 19/20 and start playing with a more limited approach that fits the remnants of our squad. We have enough to get Top 4 if we hunker down. Then we can go again next season.

    Look, we are clearly in a bad situation. But of the CBs we've tried this season, Phillips has been the best option outside of Hendo and Fab even with his limitations. Just play him for the rest of the season (I suppose we don't even have a choice anymore) and stick someone (Davies?) next to him. When they are fit, just play Hendo and Fab in midfield. Let's just play everyone in their right position and simplify things.

    I think we should really think about reshaping the team for the rest of the season. Sadio should play on the right or up top (down the middle). Let him play on his strong foot and simplify his role so he can gain confidence.

    No, Jones should stay on. We have no legs in midfield without him, even if he's not had a great half.

    We need to play a CB that has pace so the rest of the team will work (as well as possible given the circumstances). Of our remaining choices, that sounds like Davies.
