  1. Digger is backing Rafa now. Why isn't HE advising the club on all things
  2. He should be stalking Henry and waiting outside his house until he's willing to hear his case for the grand plans of the Liverpool Football Club
  3. Doubt Gary Ayre or the owners would even know who the f*** Dave Whelan is Sure, maybe this has been blown out of proportions coz Whelan's a t***, we've also approached Rodgers who has now turned us down. Maybe we're just publicly going after a load of candidates
  4. Rafa would give the most comprehensive, captivating and innovative interview if he's ever given one. He would make a 2 hour dvd about what he's gonna do with the youth setup and each player in the right now, and write a book about what he's gonna do with the club and its economics for the next 30 years Of course, then he'll ask for money to spend on players and he won't be considered
  5. You should be f***ing banned if Martinez gets the job instead of Rafa now

If they appointed Curbishley instead of Rafa? Curbishley's name was thrown around at the time but he was never seriously considered, I thought. We were always after either Mourinho or Rafa At the moment we're going for the manager of Wigan Athletic a day after we sacked our manager/club legend, that's why there are streams of better credentialed candidates out there, where we don't even have to pay any club off to have

There is one fact in all of this: Ayre is a c***. How he outlasted Kenny is f***ing beyond me, he's doing a great impression of Woy f***ing Hodgson to the press atm
  8. Trying to install a baseball setup in football would be f***ing foolish, there's no way you can have a football manager just picking the players and doing press conferences every week
  9. If they wanted out, why would they sack Comolli? That's another bunch of compensations there. And all the other blokes that they sack.
  10. Ayre's sudden rise in "prominence" has been deeply disturbing. Seriously? You're doing transfers negotiations? Get f***ed
  11. f*** off with your spin, Ayre

Well if it's a video linkup of sorts in this day and age then you can sorta do an interview from the other side of the world But I'm not sure we can trust them with the interview process, they're looking for someone who fits with what they want, which is probably being able to compete without spending a lot of money
  13. Having thought it over, reckon Martinez is 80% nailed on.
  14. s*** just really got real
  15. Well it could work if you basically have Rafa and Martinez having a good working relationship and both having input in the team tactics scouting signings etc, would be like having two managers. Some other sports do something similar But can't see it, Rafa is a manager through and through
  16. Speak to Hodge while we're at it

They were "trying" to sign Beckham, thought they'd sign Ronaldinho as well along with him. And Ronaldinho is a pretty f***ing big one, and don't think at this point in time we'd be able to attract someone who was basically the hot young talent in Europe at the time Would Martinez do better with this squad than Kenny did? I really doubt it very much
  19. Yeah, clearly Martinez is a smokescreen for Guardiola or Klopp.... in a parallel universe

We're gonna be really happy, it's Purslow

They are different cases, coz those two either had cash to burn and ability to attract top players, or a squad already ready to win any trophy. Martinez is gonna have neither if he comes in, that's if FSG are gonna change their mind and splash the cash, which I highly doubt

Rijkaard walking into Barca and Rafa Valencia are two completely different cases. Rijkaard went into a Barca with a new president and loads of resources to attract top players like Ronaldinho and had the dough to build a squad. Rafa walked into a Valencia team that made it to two CL finals and already had a very very good squad If Martinez gets the job, he'll be diong it with a club that cannot attract the calibre of players we once did, and probably can't match the resources Barca could pump out for Rijkaard. He's also working with a squad that's not exactly readymade to be near the top end of the ladder like Rafa in Valencia We're talking about finding a bloke who can get us back in CL asap and challenge for the league long term, without the resources of some of the other top teams in this league. A seasoned manager with proven credentials at winning top s*** would be far more likely to achieve that than an up-and-coming manager with no track record of winning any major leagues or managing top clubs

Okay forgot about Wenger's stint at Monaco, at least he has won a top division league title in Europe somewhere before Dein snapped him up from Japan Martinez is a good lad,, probably, unless he transforms into a c*** two matches into the season like the owl, but don't think he has anything about him that we could take a punt on

Wasn't hinting at anything, I'm f*** against him getting the job, but trying to scrap the barrel for any positives about it atm

What was Wenger's record when Arsenal hired him?
