  1. Think Villa-Boas is certainly very clued in tactically, although he came out with some disastrous moves back in Chelsea With the right players, you can see him being potentially a top manager in the game, and you'd hope he can spot a player since he used to do a bit of scouting Yes I'm trying to convince myself that it'd work, certainly far easier than Martinez
  2. New York Red will be a chance soon to have his odds shorten, purely coz he's closer to Boston than most the other candidates to be interviewed
  3. They're businessmen, they lie, just like most of the bulls*** Ayre's been coming out with recent, a lot are probably lies, too. It's sad when you can't even trust the people within the club to tell the truth.
  4. They can f*** off, c****
  5. Big Sam back in the Big Time, it's gonna be magic
  6. Probably won't hear anything until the end of next week latest, probably two-three weeks from now Either they're seriously gonna evaluate all these candidates, or they've already decided who is the man and these are all just stunts for PR and to kill time
  7. Didn't Thommo once retorted at Robbie by telling them to put both their medals on the table and count them, see who has more? Football is a game of egos and a lot of this alpha s*** goes on, it's not like baseball where it's probably less of a case. You need someone in charge who is able to command respect and authority straight away and be able to sustain that even through the tough times, particularly when you're at a club like ours with huge egos with players. Although most players would've told Hodgson to f*** off, they stopped listening to them pretty soon when they realised he was s***, When Kenny was going through a bad patch, the players didn't dare kick up a fuss coz he is Kenny Dalglish, and rightly so That was precisely AVB's problem when he took over a Chelsea club with big egos who have big success, they were never gonna listen to him. That is Martinez's problem if he ever gets in a bad patch here, it could spiral out of control. We need an experienced, proven winner more than anything at this stage, if they're young then even better.
  8. Basically some of this baggage stuff is s***, if it's baggage concerning players or backroom staff turning on Rafa last time 'round, or a minority of the s*** fans having some irrational hatred for him, then it's a s*** reasoning. Mourinho have just won the La Liga with loads of key players hating his guts, the press hates his guts, and dare say the egos in the boardroom there wouldn't like his type either. The only thing that counts in football is results and success, and Rafa would bring it far more than the likes of Martinez and probably even the unproven AVB. To not even interview him based on past history is f***ing crazy
  9. AVB would come with baggage as well, he clashed with the senior players at Chelsea FFS. It's not like our players haven't clashed with managers before, eh? A lot of appointments would come with some degree of baggage, Martinez would have a baggage: he has a f***load to prove if he gets appointed since he is unproven and has achieved next to nothing at the top level, a few results going against him and what would the big egos in the dressing room think?
  10. If it becomes a reality TV show, then it'd be great value just to have Woy f***ing Hodgeson in for audition (and guaranteeing that he won't get the job...), the amount of non-sense he'd sprout would be f***ing amazing. "I'll be looking to use that Emile Heskey, who played magnificantly against Tony Adams and Sol Campbell this season at Highbury when Liverpool won 2-0..."
  11. If they aren't even giving Rafa the time of the day for an interview then it's a little bit worrying
  12. That bet list has Roy f***ing Hodgson on 1000-1, makes me sick even having him being mentioned on any list of Liverpool managers
  13. Wonder if the players will have any say in who the new man would be, although they really shouldn't coz most of them don't have a f***ing clue
  14. He just had a new article about the CL final up on his website, seriously Rafa, you have no time for that bulls***, start making powerpoints and dvds for your job interview
  15. Think they didn't wanna appoint a DoF that isn't gonna work well with the manager, and since they probably want rid of Kenny by the time they sacked Comolli, they wouldn't appoint anyone until they get their choice of manager sorted as well
  16. You narrow your list of candidates based on a list of criterias, like experience, success and stuff won and so forth, then you interview the outstanding candidates You don't go interview say Rafa Benitez and Guardiola/Klopp, then ask the manager of Wigan or Norwich to be interviewed along with them.
  17. When Purslow tapped Hodgson up ages ago and was just killing time before announcing him, you at least know he already had a target in mind. Atm you genuinely don't know what FSG is gonna do, coz it seems like they have no idea who is the best man or who they really prefer, they're just gonna interview all of them and make their minds up afterwards, whoever sounds more impressive
  18. Maybe 12 was just the silly number being thrown around, but they are certainly asking a fair few candidates. They did the same with the Red Sox recently didn't they, 8 of them in fact
  19. Can sorta get what you're saying, fine line between madness and genius. All of this madness wouldn't matter if they hire the right people to build a winning long term structure at the club But surely asking 12 blokes for a much publicised interview from the other side of the world is a little bit silly
  20. Maybe it was false and he took it down, or it's true and he was told to put it down. Either way it looks stupid
  21. Yeah it's gone, wonder what that means
  22. Well that's only if Rafa tells him in his face that he ain't getting it, but very much doubt that. Rafa would be working his balls off atm trying to get the job
  23. If Stephen Martin reckons Rafa isn't on the list then he'll probably get the job
  24. If Rafa is indeed being considered, and that it's gonna be based purely on the interview process without any bias, then I cannot f***ing see how any other candidate can have a more comprehensive, thorough and brilliant long term plan for this football club than Rafael f***ing Benitez FSG would be f***ing crazy not to get him in, he would f***ing wow them with the brilliant s*** he'd come up with and that's the kinda stuff they love
  25. How are we even gonna find 12, we speaking to Lawrie Sanchez?
