In central midfield we're definitely superior. Without Makelele they'd be weakened by a far bit while we can still do without, say, Gerrard and still have Xabi and Momo doing the job, while Zenden's more than capable in the centre

Don't agree with that either, some of the best games we've played last season was due to the perfectly balanced midfield partnership of Momo and Xabi Stevie is the best in the world, but there are games where Momo and Xabi will be more effective. Mind you, it's all opinion and all that, but I've always liked Stevie out on wide right given licence to roam free since it's in his natural instincts to play that way, sometimes he can leave us with holes through the middle due to his overeagerness when playing central

Don't get all this "Gerrard belongs in central mid" thing He's as good on the right for us as he is centrally. There are simply some games where Momo and Xabi are better options in the middle than Gerrard
