We are not fine out wide, not at all, far less than what we have up front It's silly to pencil someone as good as Suarez into a definite wide or front role, he should be used in both areas depending on the situation. Coz it's essentially buying someone that won't play ahead of Carroll or even Suarez Should be about adding quality to the first XI, so a great wide player or two makes much more sense than a striker, and wages wise would be way more efficient tbh, you are buying someone to start week in week out, not to sit on the pine behind Carroll or having Carroll sit there Whichever angle you try to spin it, it's still the flanks that is the massive priority

You can sign Dempsey and Sigurdsson for that advanced role that plays off the striker, then we can just play Gerrard in midfield next to Lucas for a lot of it. Gives you options Both of them together will probably cost less than a Downing

Only one year left in his contract, he really wouldn't cost much Still, if we get Sigurdsson then there's no real point in Dempsey, rather put the money in a wide player and maybe a CM

Sigurdsson would be very good, a great alternative to Dempsey We still need pace on the flanks though, that's probably the area BR is looking at first

Dempsey would be sorta a replacement for Kuyt, in a way I like him, he has great movement, and can actually hit a freekick, but he'll be s*** at it once he's here He's a bit of a t*** but only his ability matters at this point
