  1. Yes I'm sure that would work well. Benitez: We're interested in signing you player X but we've got no idea whether we will be able to or not until December 16th, or whether for that matter I'll be in a job, can you please hold your horses until then?
  2. I don't know why it takes so long; I'd imagine Paul Jewell would though. He intimated that it is because the deals are mighty complex and involve many different factors coming together at once. If you can begin that process before the window then hopefully during the window a deal can be struck. If it's put on hold then I'd imagine that c***s the process up completely and surrounds everything in uncertainty.
  3. Have you not listened to anyone who has had to actually deal with the transfer window, Paul Jewell etc? You don't just do deals in January, the legwork has been ongoing for months. Why are the owners putting everything on hold for an arbitary date in December?
  4. Fair dos I'll edit it. Edit: How do I edit the post above?
  5. For them to suggest that they have invested heavily in the team is fallacious, we would have had a net spend of roughly £20M if David Moores was still in charge what with the improved TV deal and our CL run.
  6. Always back the football men, not the c**** looking to rape the club.
  7. Yep, and to be fair he's doing a good job of his job, the f***ing snake.
  8. Yes. It's already been pointed out that you treat news from sources based on whether it is positive or not, be that primary or secondary sources. Seen it all before with you and the DIC/GH thing with the inevitable U-turn embarrassing to read. We need to get our heads together and try to see if there is anything we can do. I say showing the manager support is the only thing we as fans have power over. By pretending there is nothing wrong though you're muddying the waters and could have a damaging effect on the club.
  9. Nothing out of the ordinary in that press conference the other day eh?
  10. Vidic would have been class too, that incompetent t** Parry saw that one off though.
  11. You're completely right but why do you bother arguing? There's some on here, fyds being example, who'll say black is white if it means ignoring the truth that is staring them in the face. This has been particularly obvious throughout this year. The whole DIC debacle. We're getting DIC = they're great, we're getting G+H = DIC ARE s***. You were on here arguing that there were major problems after Athens, again you got shouted down; Usher/Bascombe no nothing idiots who are trying to s*** stir. People need to wake up that there is a massive problem, it's not because our owners are Americans it because they are proving to be clueless when it comes to owning a football club. Accept that there is a massive problem then back the man who is holding this club together - RAFA.
  12. Well done that's the worst post I've read on any forum today.
  13. The warning signs were there after Athens. All the news coming out of the club was bad, Rafa/Bascombe/Usher etc. These two yanks have done a job on us. At least the Mancs put up a fight with theirs we welcome our cowboys with open arms. Shows what a bit of PR can do.

  15. Definitely. Why can't people just look at the information at hand and react accordingly in an objective as possible manner? It seems obvious that at the start of the summer there were a few problems with money being released, the situation for whatever reason changed. Now most of us are fairly content.
  16. He's a better player than Pennant, but not a winger.

    New Stadium

Was the July 3rd release date a load of old s**** then?
  18. I'm sure the manager will know a rough price that he needs for a player. Didn't he quote a range between 15-20 million Euros.
  19. You talked up DIC so much and dismissed Gillett as a 'chancer', then DIC were the enemy and Gillett our savior, if that isn't a U-turn I don't know what is. You are entitled to change your mind it's just the vociferous nature in which you pushed the point and then so quickly turned on it (within a few hours) that is a little odd. As for your second point, players and management leak things to the press and people around them all the time. Rafa is particularly astute at this but again as there are no direct quotes you will dismiss it. There are some pretty exceptional and unprecendented quotes from Rafa on May 24th however, heavily criticising the club, but again those are dismissed because it was after the CL final.
  20. Dave Usher is a good red and he is one of the true sources on the internet. I don't see why people need to slag him off when he brings us news we might not like to hear. Just a case of shooting the messenger I presume. I seem to remember with the takeover you slagged off every source (inc Bose who broke the story) then finally a U turn.
  21. I think you're right there. It is Rafa's comments mixed in with Bascombe's articles that have me worried. Rafa went on a very long rant after the CL about the failures at the club, a few days later he did a covering job and made a few positive remarks meanwhile briefing his local journalist (which he uses a lot) of the situation. We have then had a number of articles by Bascombe painting a bleak outlook. Just like with the Gerrard saga and the DIC/G+H saga there was plenty of smoke milling about before hand that something might not be quite what we all believed. If people want to believe that we will be signing superstars and that the money is there then they are entitled to. My stance at the moment is similar to yours, to be sceptical until I see action.
  22. Reina. No other player has really made me sit up and take notice this year apart from our baldy keeper. He's been class.
  23. Having Kewell will give us balance. Milan play their diamond formation and get a lot of their width from the fullbacks. If we have someone who can capitalize on that then we must play them. When we played Chelsea you got the impression that they gave Zenden space because they knew he couldn't use it. He tried his best but he simply isn't a great player. In the Champions League final, if it was me, I would play the best players. We want to win it and nothing else matters. Harry Kewell owes us a good performance and I think he will know that.
  24. Apparently there has been a load of trouble with Greek hoolies over the last few months as well.
  25. What the f***? He was backing Rafa for playing him there earlier in the season. The guy must have lost it after having to listen to Andy Gray.
