If you're delighted by the Crouch purchase, and you're very happy with Reina (who wasn't cheap and I think qualifies for your 'exciting signings' category), and think Momo is a major signing (given how much he plays), and you're aware that the board was ready to support Rafa with 10m for Simao, then where is the board failing when it comes to financing the transfers? That's three/four major signings in a transfer window, walking straight into the first team. Apart from a sugardaddy of that Russian Thief proportions, I don't see that much room for improvement. On the other hand, if what you're saying is, "yes, it's very good, but not perfect", than that's fair but not really a mountain of an argument. All the indicators point to the fact that Rafa is not willing to be held to ransom when it comes to player purchase price, and I have seen no evidence (and you have failed to provide any) that it was the board rather than Rafa who ultimately pulled the plug on these transfers. If that is the case than your argument and criticism should be targetted at Rafa as much as at Parry, which somehow is not the case. All that we know of the board from GH era is that the support for the manager is top of the list. I see no logic in them stopping that excellent policy now. If we identify the target and offer a certain amount of money, only for the selling club to come back asking for extra 2m, and Rafa says we're not paying that much, what is Parry to do? Go and buy the player regardless?
