It'll be interesting to see if his form improves given an extended run in his first position. Like you I don't think he was right for us anyway.

Every time I've seen him he's looked pretty good. I guess his first full season will let us know for sure.

Let's face it, it's just a likely that Duff did not sign for us because he would have been in much the same position as he as at Chelsea. Our squad is similar in depth so his chances for games wouldn't be that much better. He'd also, like at Chelsea, probably be asked to play in different positions than he prefers. He's obviously just not got the right mentality for us. I think Rafa actually did a pretty good weeding him out, if this hypothesis is true.
