I don't quite agree, but I see where you are coming from. He picks the team based on the oppostion without taking form into account. The players and the tactics seem to change for each oppostion. like you say I think it's difficult for the players to keep up.

Rafa was being kind, a euphemism if you like. SG wasn't playing to the game plan, he needed someone smarter who could think and control the game. Neither of which are SG's strong points.

SG is an impact player, he can't control a game in the way that Souness could. He's your wildcard. You don't build a team around a wildcard, if you do you play them in a position where game intelligence is not so important. As you say that is on the RW.

The problems are not rotation per se, but: Normally reliable players are playing way below their level (e.g. Carra) Distribution out of defence has been dire since Agger was injured. We lose the ball almost immediately and hence are under pressure more. We only have one decent striker The squad itself is not strong enough to support rotation By playing SG in the middle we are not getting the best out of the team. We sure are getting the best out of him though.

The relationship with the yanks is beginning to go the same way as with the Glazers. So far it sounds like Parry is at least trying to repel putting the debt on the club. Let's see if he backs down like Gill did.

It's probably the only way we'll be able to accomodate our best players. Let's face it our strength is our center midfield, whatever we can do to make that count is what needs to happen. All we need now is a #10 type for the hole and we can really get the best out of the squad.

Regardless of whether it was the Heinze money or not, Rafa has said his business is done. Also looks like Momo will be loan first so we won't be getting $ in. Chelsea definitely have the better deal no question about that ; but we still have the better striker. If only one other could step up to the plate and form a decent partnership it would make the world of difference. I'm getting to point of trying something drastic like throwing Nemeth in! What is there to lose?

Anyone know what the deal is with Hyypia. I noticed that he was straight down the tunnel after he came off. Will be ready for the next game, or will be using Hobbs against City?

Rafa has said none out. A different line that before the meeting w/the clowns. Momo would be the favourite to go and his agent has said it is not going to happen, so I can't see much business being done in this window. I can see tthe Czech being the only one, we deffo need cover at CH, especially given where Carra is with yellow cards.

To be honest none of the other 3 strikers (Kuyt, Voronin and Crouch) are up to much. It shows that if you can only spend < 10m then you won't get the best. Of the three Kuyt is probably best, not for his individual performance, but because he makes the rest of the team (like Hamman used to do, and El Jefecito does now) play better. He's the best of a bad lot so get behind him!

Biggest issue with Parry at the moment is that he refuses to back Rafa. When asked he said something along the lines needing to concentrate on results. Rafa and Parry don't get on, the sad thing is that Parry will probably be the one that survives.
