  1. Somebody will give them a game one day.
  2. Emmental Farm is on Dutch TV at 7:30pm.

  4. TBH, I'd swap all the Klopp extravaganza in a heartbeat for a league title win. Nice as it was.
  5. I agree but I don't clubs in Saudi or their investment fund really care. Bidding or being linked to Salah just gets their name in the media. Hasn't Salah said he doesn't (or his wife and daughters don't) want to go there? Or have I made that up?
  6. Aye. The players don't care. They take the money, get the plaudits and if the worst comes to the worst, it's all nothing to do with them and they get a move to another club. Absolutely no jeopardy for them. Everyone around them, who are also making money hand over fist from it will be telling them how great it is.
  7. Like a giant Shaqiri.
  8. Yeah. I remember that feeling different. Even one up (even thought it isn't really) from winning the European Cup.
  9. The doubters to believers thing was a turning point for me. I'd become disillusioned with everything to do with the club. I still watched games on TV but I'd become detached. I didn't like how we become as fans. I felt a personal dichotomy between wanting to win and acceptance that we wouldn't as a defence against disappointment. Klopp led me out of that like f***ing Moses.
  10. Spit of him. I reckon Gini is out biggest miss. After Sadio obvs. We never replaced either of them properly.
  11. Got me into some of the toughest moments of mine. Rome '18 was one. Turned out not so bad but at the time wasn't really that great and numerous nights getting far too drunk and having to deal with a usually sober and non-football fan GF at home isn't always pleasant (especially for her, but neither for me. Esp. when we lost :)). I don't think I'll ever be as emotional over football again as I have been with Klopp. It was a ride. That said. There's tough and there's tough. I was once in intensive care and my cousin brought me a mini radio TV (this was back in the 90s) to watch Match of the Day on. I couldn't tell you who we played or what the score was, but Liverpool FC are always there.
  12. Yeah, that's what Rogers said. Surely everyone doubts that's that's the whole truth? Personally I wouldn't trust him to put sugar in my tea.
  13. yeah, I think it's more difficult with our budget constraints to plan to sustain what we had going than to plan to improve what we had. The more successful you get, the smaller the pool of players are that will improve the squad, the more expensive they become and thus the need to get every big transfer right becomes more important. The players also have to made of different stuff and have the desire to become part of an established team rather than grow with it. We didn't. We signed Keita, we signed Thiago. Both of which on paper looked the right players, but they clearly weren't. Clubs with bigger transfer clout would have gone out and replaced these two sooner. I reckon that's where the arguments were.

  15. yeah, I thought he did okay, but should have scored and should have stayed onside for Salah's. He's offside a lot. https://www.statmuse.com/fc/ask/who-has-been-most-offside-this-season He also hits the woodwork a lot. https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/hit_woodwork
  16. Looks like it's 4. He got a 6 year contract. I think He'll get another season at least. His value isn't going down any more than it already has, so I think no matter how much we'd like to move him on, the value is in keeping him even if we sign a replacement. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/darwin-nunez/profil/spieler/546543
  17. Yep. And the Gapko one at the weekend was also bad and the weirdest. The Diaz one as you say is just a whole different ball game.
  18. I know someone who knows someone etc who knows Achterberg. He did ask for a new contract a few months ago but was told that it wasn't a "priority". Was a few weeks before Klopp announced he was off I think. He wasn't happy about it. I've been keeping an eye on him on the training vids. He's had a face on him like a smacked a***.
  19. I think you're forgetting how football transfers work. Back in the day when wages weren't so high the headline figure made more sense but now. Bah. It's algebra, Salah's value = rest of contract+fee. Best price is the fee, not contract+less fee. Which is what tends to happen with older players looking for a big contract. Our best price is letting him go for free.
  20. They managed to persuade enough clubs that their b******s etch-a-sketch version was just as good whilst they watched how it the proper one worked for a season. That turned out well.
  21. Just been discussed on Ref Watch. Apparently Taylor "got himself into a mess", but "got himself out of it" by blowing his whistle for absolutely no reason in order to stop Gapko from scoring because that would would have made the situation much worse. Worse for who? Absolutely no discussion about how that is a fair application of the laws or why that's a completely a*** about face way of looking at it. What a bunch of ****s.
  22. We'd all like it if we were good enough for those d'head refs not to have f****d us over multiple times, but I think it's fair to say, on the balance of things, if they hadn't have, we'd have been more likely to win the league, so the argument that we could have made those poor decisions irrelevant by being better doesn't hold much water. It's aunties and balls stuff. Football players aren't perfect and whilst referees aren't either, it's their job, as much as it for footballers to be the best they can be, to apply the laws as fairly and objectively as they can across the season in order to provide the most level playing field that they can. This is something that they have singularly failed to do. And not for the first time either.
  23. I would like a forward who isn't a psychodrama or a fitness worry who scores most of our goals.
  24. He blew the whistle though. Doesn't matter for what so the goal would never have stood. Putting the ball in the net would have at least embarrassed the f***er.
