  1. Why does other people's perceptions of the team you support bother you? Is your support so conditional it rises or falls depending upon peripheral things like media coverage and marketing?
  2. He'd play 90 minutes of every game in my team if I chose it. He scintillates every time he gets the ball and sends a wobble through the opponents and that is a quality only possessed by him amongst our current players. There's maybe one other but he can't play at the moment.

Oh well, you get points for that, don't you?

Mass debate in the bogs at half time today and the general theme was; 'Hodgson didn't survive a BETTER run of results than Dalglish's reputation has shielded him from.' I remember our last game at Bolton and Hodgson claiming it to be his best ever game. The tide is turning now and it's getting more volume.
  5. That's beneath contempt.
  6. 1. Bellamy 2. 3. Gerard No one else worth a damn.
  7. Sammi Hyypia. The only admirable performance on display.
  8. My deepest sympathies. Very sad to go so young and may you Rest In Peace you fine man.
  9. That's EXACTLY what we need, more bleating of the sheeple. It's gone on too long. Yes, he's a good player, yes, his name scans well in a song and yes, we all despise Evra for good reason but FFS this has gone WAY beyond embarrassing. It's cringe-making now when you think it's appropriate to defend the indefensible. Your 'there's clearly a vendetta against us' is doing the club immesurable harm from which we'll find it difficult to extricate ourselves from so can we all, please, leave the pity party right now?
  10. How dare anyone have the gall to try and rob the cloak of self-righteousness from the guests at the on-going pity-party. I realise you don't like home truths but this wallowing you're stuck in the whirlpool of is inevitably going to hurt the club. But once it's reached this type of momentum, it'll spin off like an uncontrollable blob the potter was hoping to create something positive from.
  11. There's some right whingers on here, and some colossal ones. I've stayed out of this thread as it serves no purpose at all but 275 pages of whinging has got us precisely where? Some people clearly love wallowing in self pity and 'aren't I hard done by?' gripes and don't we all just LOVE being the victims of conspiracies and FA shenanigans solely in existence to rob us of our rightful place. Suck it up and show some spine over this. Walk away from it, put it in the past and look forward to what's going to come, not what's been when nothing can be done about it.

Although I love the man, having read some of his autobiographies, I did not know he was as articulate as he's showing in the above piece. I like what I read there and think Dalglish is a match for any intellectual heavyweight who comes along with an agenda.
  13. But just because you can't see it happen doesn't mean it's NOT going to happen. I can't see how Penn and Teller shoot bullets at each other and the shoot-ee catches the bullet in his teeth. But it happens.
  14. Well I'll have to say that, personally, it'll mean a great deal to me. Not a mere 'consolation' but a 'mere' great deal. Personally.

  16. Well what I'm seeing is his 'my 5hit doesn't stink' petulant slapping the floor and foot stamping attitude of a toddler going through the terrible-twos which is frankly embarrassing.
  17. Aye, you've got to wonder how many points we've ceded to the opposition by boosting the away keeper as he runs to the Kop. As far as I'm concerned, that sort of thing should be reserved for the chosen few and not automatically handed out to every one of them. Imagine the boost this must give to their confidence and much as I'm sure it will always happen 'because it always has', this is something that needs questioning.
  18. And this is spot on. I got briefly excited when he warmed up as I assumed he'd get on the pitch he should have started on but no.
  19. I'm with Billy on this. Yes, he's the sort of scintillating player it's exciting to watch on the ball but the baggage he brings with him There's no way he should be granted a free ride when his attitude needs addressing. And a call on the local radio today said that the two Manchester clubs have scored 100 goals combined while Merseyside has 39.
  20. Steve Kean? Roy Hodgson? Who, FFS tell us WHO!!!!

  22. Super, smashin'. Didn't he come out with a racial epithet about Nathan BLake or something? And some calls on a Blackburn Rovers site for their fans tomorrow to CHEER every time Suarez is on the ball! They are demanding their fans fly in the face of media expectations and do the opposite of what's going to be required of them. Which is super.
