  1. I don't disagree but our non goalscoring stats come with a lot of caveats.
  2. Why would you not count that Spurs one?
  3. When did he get injured? Was it Vs Portsmouth? He played every league game up to Birmingham Other than that the only games were the CL qualifiers. He was on the bench for those, but that means very little.
  4. Damn shame.
  5. Equivalents for Utd would be Ferdinand, Scholes and Rooney out at the same time for an extended period or Carvalho, Essien and Drobga for Chelsea. Its not only reason we've been s*** lately but it hasn't helped us any.

    Kuyt

Ricardo's omnipotence would cover for Gerrard's many deficiencies.

We'll see I suppose. I think you're wrong, and its a typically lazy comparison you make. Player for player comparisons aren't the point. Its that if it takes arguably to best foreign player to play in England a few months to adapt, then its not sensible to expect a young player to come over and immediately tear up the league. I have vague recollections of seeing Henry when he first went to Arsenal, and he did look pretty ordinary. There are other examples. Hleb has barely looked a footballer until this season.

26 according to wikipedia. However, it is true that he took a few months to settle. He was also a couple of years older. "Brought in as a replacement for fellow French forward Nicolas Anelka, Henry was immediately moulded into a striker by Wenger, a move that would pay rich dividends in years to come. However, doubts were raised about his ability to adapt to the quick and physical English game when he failed to score in his first eight games.[3] After several difficult months in England, Henry even conceded that he had to "be re-taught everything about the art of striking."[3] These doubts were quieted when he ended his first season at Arsenal with an impressive goal tally of 26" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_henry...E2.80.932007.29 Not that I want to make any comparisons with Henry.
  10. Happy that Anelka isn't part of it, yes.
  11. That miserable ship has sailed into the gloomy sunset. Let it go.

If you're bored then you have nothing invested in it. Not sure I have ever been bored at Anfield. Angry & frustrated yes, but even when sitting through a tedious game like Portsmouth last season or Birmingham this, I am always hoping and waiting for that moment of inspiration that brings the win. Right down to the last second. So never bored. On the original point, I am loving the incredibly simplistic thought process that says "he won it at Chelsea so he'd win it here". Amazing - a complete short cut to actually thinking about it. Plus he's a dreadful c*** and I'd hate him anywhere near our club.

I like Kuyt, but then I would. Had a bad game, but he isn't a striker suited to playing on his own up front.

  21. The hysterical nature of some of the criticism is deeply tedious, but so are the shocked and offended responses to it.
  22. This rotation thing is daft now. Players like Agger, Alonso and Torres will play most games.

  24. Encouraging news on the injury front - especially Xabi. We miss him the most, particularly at home.
