True, I might have gone a little OTT. Benfica are a big club but when adu first came onto the scene, he was being linked with massive clubs, us, man ure, chelsea milan, real, inter etc. So its a bit surprising to seem him got to Portugal, which isnt as competitive as Italy england or spain. But I guess it may turn out to be a good move for him

Something has defiantly changed wit the way bascome reports on the club since the takeover. In reality though if we go out and spend over the odds on one player, that means we will have less to spend on the next player. For example if we want to sign two 15m rated players, but one of the clubs hears all the comments and think that we are desperate to sign player 1 at any price, they could charge us 20mill. That could then mean that we have to go for a cheaper option for player 2. This then puts us back to being in the same position as last summer were we are missing out on our main targets.

Whats everyones views on rafa speaking out? I'm a little concerned by all the bad press were getting now, especially after the result on Wednesday. I accept that the manager should be free to air his views, but did he have to be so public about his opinions? Why couldnt he leak it to the press rather than come out directly with the quotes? Its not the Liverpool way, these discussions should be held behind the scenes and not through the press. Reading his latest comments he's now saying that if we dont sign new players within one week we will have no chance of winning the league. All this will do is make it easier for clubs to raise there asking price on players.
