  2. This banner used to have the picture of some blonde Spanish bloke on it. Forget his name.
  3. F*ck it, if you told me 3 months ago that we'd have Kenny in but FT would be on his way, I'd have Kenny all day long.
  4. I was trying to remember who Dalglish's first signing back in 1985 was. Turns out it was Steve McMahon. Not a bad one first off. Link
  5. a lubricant-bear opportunity
  6. From the Broughton interview on the offal: What do you think won it? Fragrant abuses of undertakings.
  7. Not around these parts. Unless hitting "Refresh" counts, in which case I am puting in the biggest shift I have ever done.
  8. Holding my breath (and pressing F5 repeatedly)
  9. Welcome Roy. Let's hope you're the one to knock them off their f'ing perch...
  10. I was going to say brilliant gesture, but it's more than a gesture, it's a brilliant act, as the money will be a massive help for the HFSG in continuing what they do. Legend.
  11. I know this has been discussed a lot on here in the last few years, with people posting up their own simpler versions of the badge, harking back to the old one. I would have thought we'd want to retain the H'boro flame in any redesign.
  12. Really nice kit. The badge being all red is a definite improvement on the green/red one.
  13. Sad day. Gutted. I wish Rafa well- he battled long and hard for what he thought was best for LFC.
  14. Exactly. No complaints from me- a brilliant player, and a great man. All the best, Xabi!
  15. Apparently he prefers to use a new bit of social software called "Lacksydaisy"
  16. This may be a bit off-topic, but I have it on good authority that there is a young player at Man City, who is not a regular first team starter, who is demanding a new contract worth £100,000 a week. Reckon it's got to be Sturridge, and not sure we'd want to be paying figures like that for someone who is still developing, no matter how good they might look in bursts. Seems like the money sloshing around at Eastlands is causing its own problems...
  17. With three parties, you can have a "Mexican standoff", which is probably not far from the truth.
  18. I agree with the first post. I have been supporting this club for a long time, like most of you, and would love to see us get back to the days where we were quite simply the best around. The way to do that, in my opinion, is to stick by a very talented manager, in what is admittedly a poor period results-wise, and give him the opportunity to move the club forward. Even if we don't win a trophy this year, sacking him would be hugely detrimental to this football club, and would set us back by years and years.
  19. Remember the way Martin Jol was treated a couple of months ago? It's sad to think that those now in charge of this club are sinking to the same level. Our reputation for doing things in a decent way is rapidly going down the pan. Oh for the days of the bootroom eh, even if it was part myth. Fair enough, I am sure there was all sorts of stuff happening in the boardroom in years gone by under previous chairmen, but it was kept behind closed doors, where it should be. This season is like some kind of soap opera- you just wonder what is coming next. Hardly surprising that the performances on the field are suffering.
  20. Agreed- with all the attention on Torres and Babel, I think Voronin will be the one to adapt quickest and as a freebie will certainly be our best value signing. Interesting to see how many minutes he gets on the pitch and what kind of games Rafa uses him in.
  21. "What do you do with a drunken sailor?" Hopefully Rafa will not be shaved on the belly with a rusty Gillett...
  22. Get in! PSV
  23. Speaking of paint, can we have a giant pot of Crown paint on the centre circle like in the good old days? The opportunity to see that should get the people in nice and early.
  24. When I was a lad, I hurt my ankle and eventually my Dad took me off to A+E, wearing me Liverpool trackie. The nurses told me that Emlyn Hughes was in the next bay cos he'd taken his daughter fishing, and on bringing his rod back over his head, the hook had got caught in her eyelid! That's it.
