No, its because Aurelio/Riise, Alonso, Mascherano and Sissoko rarely if ever get into the opposition box and try to score or create, and they spend most of the 90 min in their own half and barely get over the halfway line. Maybe an overstatement but thats exactly what happened yesterday.
Its hard to believe that he was going for anything else then a draw, honestly, 3 attacking players and 7 defenders against Aston Villa... and when he finally makes a substitution he takes off Bellamy, our best forward/striker atm.
I'm frustrated by our lack of creative talent up front and on the wings, frustrated how we play football away from home, frustrated in Rafa for his stubbornness on playing so many defenders against teams that sit back, frustrated that Kuyt and Sissoko aren't dropped because of their poor form.
how negative can a team be? 7 defenders and 3 attacking players against Aston f***ing Villa! They must have the best attacking players in the prem if we are happy to settle for a draw!
Thats the key to next season, Rafa has to get it right and the players he brings in must improve us drastically attacking wise. Players of real quality are desperately needed in certain areas.
Lad, honestly, you should read your post again. Ronaldinho, Messi, Deco, Xavi, Iniesta, (and to a lesser degree Eto'o)... I cant think of any other side in Europe that has so much quality going forward.
This is what people have been saying for nearly 2 years and he really hasn't improved that much, which is worrying, but might also be the reason why Masherano was brought in.
