  1. Messi has scored 50 goals in 46 games in 2010.
  2. Champions League group stages have become a waste of time. The standard this season is the worst i've ever seen and its hardly been decent (bar the odd group) for a few years now.
  3. Mata, Nilmar, Defour and David Luiz.
  4. well unless you have a spare £500m or are a hitman then there's f*** all anybody can do about it. Doesn't mean we do nothing
  5. how many chances can one player have. He's useless and we should be looking to get rid.
  6. If we are to sign Cole I just hope we do a better job than Man United with our medicals
  7. Purslow's a snake in the grass. What he did with Gerrard re Rafa was very poor form. Confidence should be exactly that. He knows how to play the media though. I wanted Rafa gone but the circumstances which led to his departure leave a slightly uneasy bitter taste.
  8. Its almost condescending. Forlan has been one of the best 5 strikers in world football over the past 5 years, even if you don't watch a lot of Spanish football (which any self respecting journo should do - same applies to all European major leagues) his record on paper & a 30 second google will tell you all you need to know about this player. It almost came as a suprise to many Journalists his performance against us & Fulham in the Europa league last season. Rory - it should be employment suicide. He should be sacked on the spot for negligence
  9. They are all decent players. Its about moulding a team/squad. Something that was sadly lacking last season. Spurs haven't got the anywhere near the calibre of players such a s Gerrard, Torres, Reina or Mascherano (even though he's on his way) If Torres doesn't go to Chelsea we will still have a extremely strong spine. We just need to improve to the extremities and unfortunately provide quality backup for the injury prone Torres. Nilmar from Villarreal would be a brilliant signing as he can play up top on his own or as he does fro Brazil play on the left of a front 3. A better buy then the Frenchies we're currently being linked with. Given money will be a problem signing a player who can excel in 2 or 3 different positions could be crucial.
  10. He has. City fan in being wrong shocker. He does have a point in his rant though. Any journalist worth his salt should be well aware & be knowledgeable about other foreign leagues and players. I'd expect the local sports journalsit at the Blackpool Gazzette to know who Toure and Silva are prior to this years WC. Its just plain ignorance but i'm not suprised about it with British Journo's. Lack of knowledge and genuine insight into the game is shocking. The TV pundits showed the same during the WC too.
  11. It'll be Bridge, Konchesky or Figueroa as our left back next season. City will sell Bridge to us (they are about to sign the Lazio left back) but he'll have to take a pay cut. As will Joe Cole but we are offering him a major/regular role unlike Spurs or Arsenal. He'll no doubt get a decent signing on fee though to compensate.... Any more ex Chelsea players or City cast offs we can buy

  13. No & its Sven & Pellegrini but both are appeasers as the choice has already been pretty much made by our beloved CEO
  14. good excuse for keeping your ST i guess.
  15. Don't know whyb we don't send our resssies to Scandinavia and Eastern Europe when they are looking for friendlies during their domestic league breaks.
  16. Not sure other clubs will be happy to deal in magic beans though. unless major changes at ownership and managerial level happen this summer then it could be a long time till we can even remotely think about challenging for top honours again.
  17. Its annoying that the United campaign has had so much recent publicity against our plight and the SOS campaign. Simple fact of the matter is that neither (regardless of who is backing the phoney united takeover bid) is going to be successful and drive out the owners. The two sets of owners will a) either leave on their own terms with massive profits or b) be forced to sell a stake/share to ease the debt burden by the banks but still maintain overall control. Thats the reality of the situation.

  19. That. I reckon anything around £350m will see the debt wiped and G&H bought out. The £100m equity investment for 40-50% of the club is a non starter for me. It will still require further 'private' money put into the 'project', you can sure bet G&H won't do that and any other investor would be hard pushed unless it meant even further control.
  20. Aye. I'm not trying to beat rafa with a stick or anything as its a problem at the club as a whole. There just doesn't seem to be any continuity and trust in younger players. Insua hs been a relative success so far. Hopefully he will continue to progress even though i'm not sure he's still yet cut out obe first choice left back just yet. Pacheco is crying out for a chance or two, the reserves is a s*** standard - leave a quality player there too long and he'll stagnate.
  21. Why wouldn't it. "Come and join us and look at what players have 'graduated'." Their success at developing youth is clear to be seen. At present all the good local talent is ending up at Everton - there they at least have half a chance of making it into the senior side. Its a closed shop here. Unless you are seen to be keen to develop and give youth a chance then you won't stand a chance of attracting the real talent that has potential to make it. I am also aware that our academy coaches are quite poor too.
  22. Tell that to Barcelona. 8 players that started on saturday night came through their youth system & they are far and away the best team on the planet. Golden age maybe they they do consistenly produce first teams players through their ranks.
  23. A third tier on the Anfield Rd end & Centenary stand and a completely redeveloped Main Stand.
  24. Was a quality goal. Barcelona were awesome earlier though. They are head and shoulders above any other team
  25. your theory is wrong. The end!!
