Barry is very underrated. If you watch him play very closely, he very rarely gives the ball away, is strong in the tackle, score goals but isnt the quickest. He does not have Xabi's range of passing fair enough but Xabi isnt the quickest is he?? If we have enquired about Barry, I think it can be taken as read the Xabi is going back to spain.

Agree with this 100% Istanbul was as good as Athens was bad. It wasnt just the result either. Yes there were many issues at the ground but there was stuff going on in the run up to that game that made me genuinely ashamed. 11 of us were in our party, all went to both finals and to a man, all said they wouldnt go to Moscow. same here. The cost of changing management team isnt just the compo and the big contract for the new lot, it is the cost of overhauling the playing squad. Just look how much dross we has in 2004. We certainly have a much stronger squad/team now but are 2 or 3 players short in key positions. Quite simply, there are not enough goals in tha team..simple as. I dont mean when you score 6 against Derby, it is in the tight games where you need to be clinical. Other than Gerrard and Torres, we dont have anyone who is a goal threat. (Babel: maybe in time)

My biggest criticism of Rafa are his substitutions. Always at 60 and 75 minutes never before unless an injury has occurred. his has always been the case. It is a joke among the fans where I sit. It is as if he is managing by statistics and how many playing minutes certain players have had and 60 and 75 are nice neat percentages to analyse in pie charts. The ONLY thing I liked Maureen for was that if it wasnt working, he changed it whenever that was. I suspect that Rafa would see this an admission of his failure and he dont do that.
