I think this is spot on. I reckon that this was a key element among several of the factors that have seen us suffer a shocking, if not entirely inexplicable, slide. It's easy to say in retrospect, but if you remove the stablising force and heartbeat of the side, then alter the defensive/attacking mix at both fullback positions, suffer some terrible luck on the field and from s***heads in the boardroom, you get a perfect storm where we go from within touching distance of league, to the point where the position of a decent man, and good manager, has probably become untenable. In order to keep this whole thing on the rails, Rafa had to get everything right. He didn't. In all likelihood nobody could have. I think this all has a feeling of inevitability now and I dread to think who we'll get in if Rafa walks.
