  7. One of my top three players ever to play for us. Absolute legend and should have had much more credit when playing for us.

I guess I'm just a silly bugger when it comes to our players. I have a ridiculous past when it comes to expectations towards players that didn't perform. I used to think Ronnie Rosenthal would be our top goalscorer for years to come. I'm still coming to grips with Collymore being a headless (albeit talented) chicken. I sometimes go the the Wee-uns thread to look for the progress of Le Tallec and Pongolle - LE GEMS! Igor Biscan? "He'll be a massive legend ( in a way, he actually is though ) after 15 years of loyal service to the club!" In a way, it's like a personal brainwash. Just, believe the best! Alberto falls squarely into the category of "why the hell wasn't he 'the one'?" of players I've been just so excited about. But ok, yeah, he's not the one. Funnily, then there are players that really do repay the blind faith you show in them. Lucas is one of them. Hyypia is another. The one's we sign for peanuts (large expensive peanuts perhaps but in all context, peanuts) but turn into real Liverpool players - real legends. Love those players. In a way, even though I'll admit liking the big money signings, I don't think I could ever support a sugar daddy club like Citeh. It's unclean. It's not Liverpool. Liverpool is about the club and not the player. Everything about Citeh, Chelski and any other sugar daddy club is unclean and wrong. It's too easy and basically no fun. What's fun? It is to see players embrace the club and be a part of it. That's the reason I wasn't too distraught to the the back of Torres. Maybe because I return there was the (unmistakable) smile of El Pistolero. So all in all go get well Lucas and just come back stronger. Kenny will sort us our in the meanwhile.

Terrible news indeed. The thing about the reborn Lucas was that he had developed a fantastic sense of positioning and then using explosive pace to rip into the blind side of the opposition player. Obviously that's something that he was using and extra yard of pace for. So here's hoping that the docs can patch him at least 99% Having said that, a huge importance in any rehabilitation is the character of the player in question. For what it's worth, I do think that Lucas is made out of something positive. The way he's handled himself while breaking through has been really impressive. We should have every reason to think that he will give it all he has and work on the rehabilitation program with the same vengeance as he did when breaking into the side and progressing towards a massive player. We obviously need to strengthen our midfield though. At least for the short term. Perhaps I'm in the clouds with this one but could it be an option to recall Aquilani from Milan? His preseason form was impressive and no doors seemed to be closed. I believe the move was a loan move but perhaps the implications are that it was finalized to end up as an permanent transfer. Only wondering because replacements of the right caliber will be hard to come by in january. YNWA LUCAS!
  14. No he isn't. Passionless, heartless and talentless! I really don't rate him and I honestly think that if he was from Morocco, or any other place than England, he wouldn't even get noticed. Over the last seasons I've shouted my lungs out every time I've seen him. Nowhere near the caliber we deserve and need. Period. Case closed. Move on.
  15. Joint Managers ? Easy lads, there's a smiley there even though I'd love it!
  16. Can anyone give comments on how Emilsson has been doing?
  17. Silly question but could this be linked with trying to ascertain the need for season tickets and as a result - directions with expansion of anfield or possibly a new stadium? Just a thought.
  18. Cheers for that mate, solid response and it's appreciated . I kind of knew that but somehow everybody was talking like a big catastrophic thing had happened - and I missed it.
  19. Right, can someone spell out to me what happened with Insua? Somehow, I don't know why, I missed the point where it all went wrong. I rated Insua and then all of the sudden he was just, gone.
  20. Fekk me. It's like reading your own obituary! I'm not even sure I didn't write that - apart from the fact there aren't 58 spelling mistakes there.
  21. Unbelievable. It's like a monologue from an episode of The Office - Ricky Gervais-esque. 2:35 "They won't fall asleep, that's the problem. They won't fall asleep - and they will do that, in their sleep. And they won't have to be told."
  22. Brilliant stuff. Keep their heads down and be prepared to give them a chance when the time is right. I trust Kenny. Can I ask someone in-the-know how Emilsson is doing? Why was he missing from this game.
  23. That's very promising actually. Either he's been well scripted or he's actually pretty clued in on the ways of the club and football in general. I love his comments on Anfield and Kenny specially. I'm cautiously optimistic on John, I am.

  25. For my life I can't understand the gloryfans of Chelski and Man C. Such blissful ignorance is at best humorous and at it's worst cancerous. Success is something you have to earn for and not pay for. Our heritage is club before player and a strong team spirit. I shudder to the thought of journeymen footballing mercenaries donning the liverbird. Hopefully any new owner will have taken a deep look at the heritage and history of the club and the supporters and will undo the damage done by the cowboys. Returning the club to the right way of doing things. What worries me immensely though is the fact that when I look at our squad I feel it's starting to look more and more like any faceless and heartless European team. Players have been brought in as fast as possible to plug holes punched by selling top players. I wonder if they truly have what it takes to play for the club like for example Hyypia did? Or Carra? Or Stevie? That's what we need - Liverpool through and through. Nice to see you about Vic.
