  1. It really is now boiling down to our home games v city and chelsea, win them, we are champions
  2. Colin Pascoe never gets much on these pages but I liked the way he was on at clattenburg walking out after ht, 1 min later, pen, game over
  3. The more we get written off the better in my book, self believe running through us is a major credit to all involved
  4. Back four have been immense, aggressive, first to every ball
  5. We're all assuming that BR will go semi cautious tomorrow and go with Allen. What are the chances that he might go for the surprise option and go all out and play both Sterling and Coutnho. We have that buffer of a 6 point gap and if we are to have any chance of winning the title, we have to win tomorrow
  6. So we should stop talking about the other team we are playing in the match thread on the coming match against that other team - eh?
  7. I'm a bit jittery about this one. However, there are plenty of logical pointers to a win, let me divulge 1. Their CB partnership. If they were playing anybody else, they would stick with Jones and Smalling after last weeks showing but I think he will bring back in Vidic. Moyes has a bit of a conundrum here as to who he pairs him with, can he really go with Vidic and Jones against a highly mobile and pacey attack, I don't think so. Smalling is likely to keep his place based on his ability to turn for one but he is a liability to any side now and his confidence is shaky to put it mildly and if our lads run at him, he will end up costing them. 2. Jones has to start and I think he will start him in midfield with Carrick meaning the 27m beanpole won't be starting which is a plus and a minus from our point of view, I would fear him from corner kicks/free kicks but he would allow us more room in the middle but either way they should be relatively easy to play through which is key to our game 3. Their full backs, we all know Rafael is a mistake waiting to happen but is a decent right full. Evra, when turned and asked to defend is poor now and can be got at, I fancy Raheem and one of Sturrdige/Suarez to double up and really go for the juglar on this wing. 4. Their attacking conundrum, RVP and Rooney will play, so will Mata and the balance of that three is just not right. RVP has already highlighted that he is not happy with (team-mates running in to his positions) and he looks like he has given up on Moyes but will probably be up for this (if I was to bet on one player getting a red on Sunday it would be him). Rooney is a shadow of himself recently and doesn't seem to know what is required of him under Moyes. Mata floats in and out of games and again does not seem to know exactly what is required of him. They will have to play at least one defensive minded attacking player given the way Moyes like to set up and fingers crossed it is Valencia, he has really regressed and the net effect of him playing will shift them at least 10 yards back allowing us to push on 5. We're boss and will also have the strongest bench we've had in years - Coutinho, Lucas, Sahko, et al
  8. RVP lucky to be playing next weekend, glad he is, don't want them having any excuses. They played Jones/Smalling centre half today, looks like they'll go with them again next weekend - bring it on!
  9. Mid table fodder
  10. Keep your trap shut Henry, zero need to be bringing this kind of nonsense up - just when Luis is away with Uruguay too
  11. It's highly likely that we will play city after Chelsea, hopefully not the midweek after, although that would bring a certain symmetry to our season Edit - second leg of the champs league semis are the week after chelsea sunday fixture - hopefully chelsea have an away mountain to climb on the tuesday night v barca/real/bayern
  12. It is staggering that Wenger didn't buy a striker in Jan, Yanago is like a mix between Ngog and a giraffe
  13. One with Januzaj in it but it's not in him to play all 4 (rooney, rvp, mata, jan) so it will mata + valencia, who is after turning in to a truly awful player who is easy to shackle (just show him inside). Midfield Carrick + 1 (cleverly or fellaini) - poor, any half decent side will lord it against this pair Their biggest problems are at the back, smalling has completely lost it, evra is finished as a defender, still a decent outlet mind, rio and vidic would be easy fodder for our attack, evans may be back and is their best defender which says a lot. Jones is permanently crocked and could fit in at the back or in midfield We should be hammering this mid table team if we want to get #19
  14. Mentioned this in the match thread but what was so impressive about the sub yesterday was that he put sterling central - default option would have been sterling wing and henderson central but he saw something different and took his time to explain it to Raheem before he put him on - must have had nearly 5 mins of direct instructions. Coincidentally, coutinho was just having his best spell of the game, he's young and that inconsistency will develop out of his game - prob knew Scolari would be watching and maybe the pressure got to him a bit
  15. Easy decision was to put Sterling wide right - BR saw something different and put him centrally and boy did it work, hats off to the manager.
  16. Bring on the f*ckin mancs
  17. I was waiting for the 'we're gonna win the league' - bit half hearted but f*ck it, we can
  18. How many yellows has stevie?
  19. The ming has had a great game, that save was as big as save v stoke
  20. Southampton have thrown the towel in a bit
  21. Stop dicking around, this is still about the win
  22. Come on red men
  23. Doesn't always work like that, gazump them, at least make them pay through the nose by going all out
  24. Southampton have thrown their kitchen sink at us and we're still one up. Ball was breaking for them a lot in that first half, should start to break our way in the second but getting Sterling on to push Shaw back is key btw, I have said it before, Shaw looks a Liverpool player,. we should be all over him this summer
  25. Johnno MOTM so far
