  2. no but I heard Brum fans singing the Gary Neville Manc song once we scored... small time f***s.. two of 'em tried to get it going all match, then they all f***ing joined in once we got the goal.
  3. no chance.... 6ft at the most edit: just checked.. 189cm (6ft2)
  4. I didn't hear the Hallelujah... but the response to him coming on was loud.. Nowhere near as loud as the CL Semi... nothing has topped that for me. The fact we had just scored had us all in high spirits but seeing him take his training top off reveleaing his shirt was a fantastic sight.. he had a prolonged wait to come on as that Kilkenny chap was being seen to on the field....
  5. 'you're just a fat Eddie Murphy, Fat Eddie Murphyyyyyyyy' Sunderland fans to JFH
  6. He;s not as tall as I thought he was, but he did well against the likes of Heskey who is bigger and more powerful. He does seem to use his arms to get up for headers so I can see us conceding a few free kicks, but I guess he will get used to this.
  7. Van der Saar has conceded plenty of goals this season... hes a class keeper but is as likely to concede a soft goal as much as Carroll was.
  8. it was a fantastic save... unbelievable in fact. But yeah it was a shame what happened after it. He very nearly got to Ferdinands last week too, his fingertips touched it and bearing in mind the placement of that header and the speed of it it was pretty remarkable that he got anywhere near it. Anyone see that ball he played out to Kewell in the 2nd half. It was a little chip ball to the halfway line which resembled the sort that Stevie or Xabi would be proud of. Kewell didn't have to move to get it. top man!
  9. he was top quality last night. Very impressed with him. Very lightweight though but his skill on the ball makes up for that. Some amazing crosses from the lad, he would work wonders on our right wing.
  10. he contributed about as much as Mori did last night..... e.g. naff all.. I have noticed him look pissed off at being subbed, but on the other hand what player would look happy at being subbed? the kind of player you wouldn't want playing in your team! The fact he was pissed off tells me he wanted to keep playing and score goals... hopefully each of the 10 outfield players share the same opinion.
  11. I know what you are saying regarding Garcia mate... though the long ball was very evident in the game even with him playing. Stevie was guilty of some poor passing early on but soon settled into his driven usual self. I just don't like that 90% of the chances we have on goal are ones in the air.. and Crouch isn't particularily good in the air and Morientes doesn't seem to get into particularily good positions. Our best player in the air is Garcia (apart from Sami) and he is never in the area to get onto the crosses. Kewell was incredible first half.... he looked really up for the game and out paced Melchiot numerous times... Agger took a little time to settle but soon did.... The goal we conceded was careless.... 2 mins prior to it Reina made a stunning save from Heskey which lead to the corner which lead to the goal.... Alonso was totally gutted and didn't deserve it... would have been made up so much if his free kick had gone in.
  12. Garcia was utter s**** tonight... seriously.... everyone sat around me were restless every time he failed with his little flicks... so frustrating to watch, but you never know when he might pull something out of a hat and score a stunner... Morientes was hardly in the game apart from the assist to Gerrard... Kewell was my man of the match, especially in first half.
  13. has Cisse got much competition for his place in the World Cup? Though I know how prolific he has been for his country though so I guess hes pretty much sorted. As for Fowler. I can't wait... am sat near the dugout anyway, but its gonna be pretty strange seeing him warming up/playing for us again. I can't wait.. it was the first thing I thought about when I woke up this morning and the last thing I thought about last night before going to sleep....

    Defoe

he must be gutted.... we were his best chance of him proving his worth for the World Cup. I feel a bit miffed that we didn't get him, but if Cisse was in any kind of swap then I am more miffed

if he wasn't English it would be about 5 mill... at the most.

am sure Sky said one of the papers is reporting that Man Utd made a late bid for him...

  24. that last day of the summer window when Solano and Owen both went to Newcastle was a big moment... their fans thought 4th place at least blah blah.... I hope they go t*** up financially...
  25. make sme laugh... .all the cheersapplause when Stubbs came on.... from stories I have read since yesterday on footy forums I got the impression from blue noses that there will be mass booing and season tickets thrown onto the pitch that offside against Henry was shocking.. he was about 3 yards onside... lucky b******s.... a draw will do me.
