  1. he missed a couple of clear chances... how he can moan he couldn't lift his leg to shoot I dunno... its the biggest game of his career... you wouldn't see an LFC player bottle out like that
  2. so the thread starts off and moaned at for not being Liverpool related, though having football based content...... and now its descended into talking b******s... sounds like a typical transfer thread
  3. saw it happen a few times on Saturday for the FA Cup final.

    Alves

I'd be made up if we got either Alves or Pennant... SWP would be too much and Chelsea would play silly buggers over a fee which will then go into the cash we should spend on a top quality striker... 5-7 million on Alves or Pennant would suffice.... 10 mill on a striker. Alves needs to sort his haircut out though
  5. shame, will miss him, but it will be good seeing Arsenal trying to get Adebayor to score 25 goals in the PL.
  6. I think he's off.... hes delayed signing a contract for long enough now... there must be more in it... It probably revolves around what happens tonight.

  13. Well, what a day.. got the train from Lime St at 8:30am, it was well organised by Triangle Travel, everyone got their seat, shame booze wasn't allowed but it seemed obvious some was smuggled on as we could tell from one guy swigging 'Lucozade' like its going out of fashion Got into Cardiff Central at 12:40 and it was great walking through the tunnels of the station singing Luis Garcia song! Immediately headed over to where the Liverpool fans were hanging around by the stadium and the atmos was great and well behaved... footy balls being flung everywhere and plenty of singing. There was a great showing of banners all over the area, my personal fave was the 'Momo is Boss' one Got to about 2pm and decided to head over to my seat, so went through the turnstiles without any trouble, at this point most were still in the square so there weren't any queues and couldn't see evidence of people being turned away, though I got offered £500 for my ticket by one fella.. even showing me the wad of cash Went through Gate 2 and watched some security guards chase some scallies around by the FA tent, one got hold of one of them whilst the other gave him a smack in the face the nearby copper seemed to divert his eyes at this point... Went to my seat to soak up the stadium as it was my first visit.... it was great watching the ground gradually fill up and from U5 it was a great view. Overall a great ground.. Don't really need to say much about the match... it wasn't our best display by a long shot, Riise was poor and they were having a field day over on our left hand side... The connections with Istanbul were frightening, with Kewell going off injured and Hamann changing the game and Pepe The atmosphere was great, West Ham fans gave us a run for our money though. One West Ham fan was in sat in our block and this wasn't known till they got the 2nd and he jumped up to celebrate.... it got nasty and he was getting chucked everywhere, there were no police or stewards and the fella tried to grab the pole of a flag off someone to swing round but fortunately he failed... he got a few jabs off some guys and a mouthful of spit off one old fella One thing that astounded me was when Gerrard got the equaliser to make it 3-3 a load of people got up and left whether they thought it was a replay or not I aint sure? The players celebratuing after the game was great, Cisse and Reina with the big head masks on was funny and Mori seemed to be laughing hysterically at one point. Nando had Reinas mask on for ages until Reina told him he had put it on upside down.... Left the stadiumand went straight for the station as was told to expect mayhem, and sure enough it was mental as not many expected penalties and it seemed people had missed trains.... I popped into a nearby Burger King only to find it absolutely full of West Ham fans... I felt like Robert Carlyle in 51st State.. anyway, ordered a couple of burgers and felt a chip hit me and turned round and saw some cockney f*** look away, then I kinda lost it with him... least said about that the better as I was having a great day.. Got in the queue for the 7:32 train and saw Phil Thompson in the queue for the 7:03 train.... so he was chatting and having piccies taken but he looked like he was with family.... then as the passengers for that train walked down the line to the platform Phil Neal and David Fairclough were at the back of the line, they got a cheer and Phil Neal had a massive red wig on, he was hilarious.... he tripped up a kerb and nearly went flying, then he came running back and said how Liverpool are rebuilding him with a hip replacement and leaving Dalglish alone ... Thommo got a round of 'Thommo been on the sunbeds tra la la' to which he replied with a smile and a wink... Got back into Liverpool and saw the coppers at teh station overreacting to one fella and setting a dog on him and t***ting him with a stick, 5 of them it took.... then one fella shouted how there was no need for that and he got chucked against the glass window and arrested too whilst his daughter watched on in tears.... nobheads... then went out on the lash which rounded it off nicely! great day heres the piccies, they have been scaled down, if anyone wants a particular one in full res then let me know and I can e-mail it.. 14. from what I have seen of him the last month he really seems to have improved a great deal.... I was very impressed in the cup semi where he closed the defence down and fought for the ball, and he is linking up well up front with Fowler and Crouch and is playing a bit deeper than he normally would recently which he seems to enjoy.. He will never guarantee us goals though.... but he is unpredictable, which I like and dislike about him. He has a good attitude though which Rafa must love..
  15. it seems the three and a half hours queuing up at 6:30am was worth it in the end.... just hope everyone gets sorted and gets to see the game. Has anyone had their Traingle Travel tickets come through yet?
  16. this is in the echo: LIVERPOOL chief executive Rick Parry has called on FA supremo Brian Barwick to sort out the cup final ticket fiasco. And the Reds today revealed how they solved a similar ticketing problem during the recent England versus Uruguay clash at Anfield. Hundred of genuine tickets needed to be replaced prior to the international on March 1, but Liverpool provided the FA with duplicates, allowing genuine fans to see the game. Now an identical situation has arisen, but the governing body are refusing to offer Liverpool fans the same help the club gave England supporters. Parry is furious with the response of Millennium Stadium officials and lack of action by the FA after 1,600 genuine fans were left ticketless due to last weekend's van theft. The Reds chief has called Barwick, urging him to use his power to demand the Liverpool supporters be issued duplicates - a procedure which would have been enforced at all the previous Cardiff finals, and at any regular Premiership match. So far, the FA have passed the buck to the Millennium Stadium, but Parry is adamant the governing body has the power to intervene. "I spoke to Brian yesterday and we are hoping the FA act to ensure the fans get their tickets," said Parry today. "So far we've had no response. We hope they will take some action, but time is running out. It's their cup final, and they've entered into a contract with the Millennium Stadium which should include a contingency plan for this kind of problem. It can be solved. "If a similar situation arose on a match day at Anfield or any Premiership ground, we would immediately issue duplicate tickets. We know this because it happened this season. "When England played Uruguay at Anfield recently hundreds of tickets needed to be replaced. We simply issued duplicates. "The response so far from the Millennium Stadium is completely illogical. "On the one hand they say they are taking this decision because they don't want to eject supporters if fans turn up with tickets for the same seat, but on the other they claim they'll still eject anyone who's sitting in the seats concerned. "If they're keeping 1,600 seats empty, there is no public order problem and they can seat the fans who should be there. What's the problem with that? I don't understand their argument. "Let's imagine a worst case scenario and our full allocation of 24,000 tickets had been stolen. Are they trying to tell us they wouldn't have issued any replacement tickets to any Liverpool supporters?" The Millennium Stadium chief executive Paul Sergeant had earlier hit out personally at Parry, claiming he was 'disappointed' by Liverpool's reaction and said the Reds should have been more careful in their distribution. Parry responded today: "Disappointed? What do they expect us to do? Shrug our shoulders and say it's okay and forget about it? "We've always sent tickets by special delivery and there's never been a problem before, and we have been involved in a lot of major finals. "It seems to me the only person Paul Sergeant hasn't blamed yet is the head of the Post Office, Adam Crozier. Maybe he's next on his list." In a further blow to the Millennium Stadium's credibility the FA's welcome pack to journalists attending Saturday's game includes the following statement: "Nobody will be admitted into the stadium without a valid ticket. Should you lose your ticket, then a duplicate can be arranged."
