    Momo

Agree with that but using Momo to justify Gerrard's own below par performance is wrong. We really need Gerrard performing, particularly at this point in time with Xabi out.

Momo was bad but he doesn't deserve this venom. He did play well for us before. Gerrard has not been playing well since the internationals and not trusting his team mates is not going to help the team. Honestly, one problem of the CM pairing tonight is that both of them are a bit thick. Agree with the point though that Gerrard would have needed to sit deep with Momo in any case, given Momo's natural game. We got away with Mash and Momo against Toulouse but not this time.

Momo was bad but perhaps Gerrard should sort out his own form first.
  4. actually if Gerrard and Momo was the pairing, Crouch should start to help hold the ball up, only that the pairing and form of players just hadn't worked.
  5. must also say beside Gerrard Carra has not been at the top this season particularly after the injury

He has his "place", I still think, as a specialist shock troop, the destroyer. Barca last year was the perfect match for him, but not tonight. Tonight beside Gerrard asked too much out of him and he lost his composure (his biggest weakness) completely.

    Momo

    Yes, would've preferred him replaced.

    Momo

unfortunately all his weaknesses exposed tonight.
  9. We'd qualify but not a comfortable stroll
  10. com'on. get that in
  11. there were worse.
  12. urgency not a problem but ball retention and actually stringing a few passes together. This central pairing doe not work.
  13. aye
  14. agree with this. Not saying that Maschareno is worse but Hamman has done it all at both Club and international levels, a consistent, big game player (saw his Didi crumple the other night vs Newcastle, we surely miss that!) Maschareno at the age of 22 / 23 still has much to prove and hopefully he will do it with us.
  15. Maschareno has not been playing very well in the past game or two particularly his possession play, arguably one area of his game which must be good. Sometimes I think he is not as calm or use his head as much as he should be for a player of his position. Missing an on form midfield partner may well be a reason. But he definitely has quality and one we should tie down.
  16. So that is it and wisely for Barca. If 14m was true then definitely a cut out price even with questions on his focus and will nowadays.
  17. 14m was mentioned in Daily Mail claiming Abramovich has convinced Ronaldino / his brother to buy out the contract (which is possible under FIFA rule for players over 28 and have played for the same club for over 5 years) and join Chelsea next season. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...in_page_id=1779
  18. Rafa says And well said this!

    Carragher

There was a bit of a panic in the team and lacking an outlet in the centre - re the form of our central pairing last night - didn't help either.
  20. mercury

    Crouch

That might well be the case.
  21. Actually you can now find matches in some of the MacDonalds, too, but I'm only sure the one in Causeway Bay will show LFC matches. The downside of these local diners and Macs is that they do not serve alcohol.
  22. mercury

    Torres injured

  23. Who the f*** this Richards is to tell whether Gerrard should play or not? Football is not Normandy. It's Gerrard and LFC's call.
  24. aye and they are still desperate. This says much about the people at the helm. The bigger picture remains Gerrard is possibly needed to save England's a** - that is what I can understand, even if it means also saving MaClown and the FA.
  25. mercury

    torres

    I love that one too!
