    Rafa

Rafa has done a brilliant job in the circumstances and I hope he remains at Anfield for many years and eventually ends up with owners who make his job easier not harder, and give him the funds he needs to get Liverpool competing again at the top. We've got a hell of a run of games coming up though, and he needs a few good wins to keep the press off his back, as they'll sense blood if we do badly, especially in the next three games: 20 Oct, 2009 Lyon Champions League 25 Oct, 2009 Manchester United Barclays Premier League 28 Oct, 2009 Arsenal Carling Cup 4th round 31 Oct, 2009 Fulham Barclays Premier League 04 Nov, 2009 Lyon Champions League Group Phase 09 Nov, 2009 Birmingham City Barclays Premier League 21 Nov, 2009 Manchester City Barclays Premier League 24 Nov, 2009 Debrecen Champions League 29 Nov, 2009 Everton Barclays Premier League 05 Dec, 2009 Blackburn Rovers Barclays Premier League 09 Dec, 2009 Fiorentina Champions League 13 Dec, 2009 Arsenal Barclays Premier League
  3. Would rather give N'Gog a chance. Would despair if we signed Heskey again.
  4. How does this f***er walk in and out of Anfield alive?
  5. That is an amazing statistic.
  6. Jermaine Pennant in proving he's an idiot shocker.
  7. That is bullsh*t, any responsible owner would have done a thorough background check on any potential new owners, and one look at the way Hicks and Gillett operate and have run their other sport 'franchises' would have shown they were the wrong people to sell the club to.
  8. Do think Gerrard would score a few from corners if he wasn't taking them. We don't have much of an aerial threat from corners anymore, and he'd have the knack of being in the right place to get on the end of a few crosses.
  9. Especially annoying as we've just had a two month summer break.
  10. Personally I do think we need take serious action such as a boycott, as the Americans do seem to think they can get away with things as long as they just stick out the one or two protests that occur every now and again. Which seems to be true sadly. Also you know they will blame and sack Benitez the first bad string of results we get, when they are the cancer that's eating away at our club. That's not a criticsm of anybody, we just need stand up to them before things get too dire.
  11. Don't worry they're getting a brutal leaflet-ing at the Stoke game - that'll learn 'em.
  12. We could have lost 3-1 or 4-1 today to be fair.
  13. I stand corrected!
  14. I do think we have a reputation with other clubs that we're mugs when it comes to selling players - probably thanks to Parry. We only got around £10m when we sold Crouch to Portsmouth despite him being an England international, and giving him Champions league experience etc. Now after one fairly unsuccesful season Portsmouth are about to sell him for £12m!!
  15. What a little s***
  16. So in conclusion all of these are either true or false.
  17. Superb work again. Cheers

  20. I guess it's all hypothetical as most of us don't really know what's going on, but I would be peeved if we wont pay £25m for Tevez but then spend the same amount on Downing and Johnson - would be typical of our transfer policy over recent years. If we were prepared to pay £20m for an ageing Keane, then Tevez is certainly worth £25m.
  21. Does Tevez have absolutely no say in where he's going? He just lets his agent sell him off to the highest bidder paying the highest wages? Tevez would be a great signing for us, and we'd be the best destination for him. Sounds horribly plausable that we put in the lowest bid for him, Hicks and Gillett are disastrous owners.
  22. How can you forget Smicer?! Good thread though, was just wondering this morning how Steve Finnan had got on in Spain...
  23. Take that back he's injured.
  24. No Arbeloa on the bench either. Oh s**t.
  25. What a load of s**t. You had games in hand at the time so this 'Clear at the top' business is nonsense. If our strike force cost £100m too, then we'd probably have won the league. Rafa just had the balls to say what everybody else thinks about this league.
