If 95% of us are unimpressed by this appointment, what about the players? Particularly those we're trying to keep. How not to run a football club.

The big problem with that though is that the money we'd get from sales isn't going back into the team, it's going into the back pockets of two greedy American c***ts.

This scares me - even though I'm sad to see us losing one of our 'good' players, I can cope with Benayoun leaving because of his age and because for a while he's seemed like he wanted to go. However I'll be gutted it Torres or Gerrard leave this summer and I've no reason to doubt that this is an accurate report, and that Chelsea are confident they can prise Torres away from us this summer and are already putting the plans in place. Makes you sick.

Realistically what's to stop Hicks and Gillett pocketing the £70m we would get from selling Torres? God forbid he does decide to leave, but if he did then what's to say that £70m would go back into the team? They've already shown they don't give a s*** about Liverpool Football Club, so what's to stop that £70m going into reducing the debt against the 'parent company', and then them walking off with that £70m when they sell the club? What can be done to stop that happening? Would we have any kind of legal redress? Would RBS/UEFA/The Premier Legue have any powers to stop that kind of embezzlement?

Have to say Tom Hick's comments today made me very angry, but as you rightly state it's all probably just bluff and a desperate attempt to still appear like being in control of the situation, when the facts show they're not. The quicker they sell the better though, and if they try and drag it on another 18 months I might shoot the fat f***er myself.

Part of the fun preparing for the World Cup for me is buying some of the guides and getting some of the booklets that come free with newspapers etc. I've already bought a Panini stickers album to act as a mini Rothmans, and the guide in this month's 442, which is ok, but does anyone have any other guides that are really good? Would be useful to know when World Cup guides/wallcharts etc are in some of the papers too, and what else is available. Cheers.

I can't help feeling that this Torres to Chelsea speculation isn't entirely unconnected to having a Chelsea fan as a Chairman. How the hell did we end up in this mess? It's becoming vital that we get rid of Hicks, Gillett, Purslow and Broughton as soon as possible, and I'm sure that Broughton is looking at the best deal for Hicks and Gillett rather than Liverpool FC, whatever his official remit. If someone is stupid enough to offer close to £800m for the club then I can't see Hicks and Gillett turning them down as not fit and proper owners can you? We could end up virtually as badly off, and this Chinese gambling tycoon sounds an equally dodgy owner. Jesus.

I was kinda hoping Carlsberg had written "F*ck you then" in Chinese or something seeing as we have new sponsors next season...

Not quite sure why the qualifying moved from 6th place to include 7th place too - why was that? because of Portsmouth's appeal failing?

Isn't as if he's going to get a rest this summer either. I think the point is we need better quality strikers in reserve, so that it's not such a blow if Torres does get injured and we're not so over-reliant on our star players. N'Gog's a decent fourth choice striker, but the amount of games he's had to play this season and the subsequent stick he's taken, is unfair on a young player who should just be learning his trade in the Carling Cup games.

It's stuff like this that winds me up too - it was quite blatantly a foul outside the box but Valencia waits until he gets into the box, then does his twisty little dive when there's no-one near him, but it's not even mentioned. If Gerrard had done the same in the Utd penalty box they'd be calling for the FA to give him a three match ban.

He's as bent as they come now Howard Webb, one of Fergie's 'Good' referees which basically means he gives them every f***ing decision.

Will be pretty peeved if he's dropped for the Lille game to make way for Lucas. Made more nice passes and quality touches in that game than Lucas has all season.

I wish I could believe this was true but there have been so many false dawns. Every summer there's speculation that Hicks and Gillett will be forced to sell but the t***ts are still here - the turds that just won't flush. Am not a particularly religious man but I do hope there is some sort of commupence for people who show as much greed as these two. They have no place at a great club like Liverpool at all.

Lucas to me looks like a 15 year old boy, playing with the adults. The game just passes him by most of the time, and he's so easy to knock off possesion and lightweight in the tackle. I just don't see it in him at all. Even his passing is always the same easy option and offers nothing to our play. Agree with that.
