Agreed, but it still irked me that he was saying we hadn't paid them enough respect when the team we fielded showed we had, and it was more that a few of our players were looking tired after the recent run of games. Luton were up for it as they should be. To be fair to them though it's a while since any team has out-played us like they did in the first half.

I think Cisse has really made an effort to fit in with how the team plays, and has taken note of what Rafa has said, so there's no reason he can't develop his playing style further and really start to gel with Crouch and the rest of the team - what a player we could have then... the lad can certainly score goals. I've watched a few of our games from last season over the Christmas period, and it was noticeable that some of the balls we played forward last season were just wasted wheras this season Chrouchy gets on the end of them and either holds the ball up or lays the ball off to someone else to launch an attack. I love how he never hides and think he's a very consistent player too. Now we just need to find the right partner for him. All hail Rafa though, he's made some tough decisions and got them right - we are lucky to have him.

I think his reception was about right as he really screwed us over when he left for £8m, and I don't think anyone is ever really going to respect someone who quits a team when it isn't doing so well - the way things have turned out since are quite just. He also says Liverpool are more important than his England career but actions speak louder than words - If he wanted to come back he would have got support from Gerrard, Carra etc and should have just sat on his contract at Real 'til they sold him back to us for £10m or so. Instead he panicked about his England place, moved to Newcastle and ruined his career. I think he underestimated what playing for Liverpool means too (bet he realises it tonight though). It does seem wrong to see him playing for another team though, and I still hope he comes back in the summer (if it's for a reasonable price).
