Just wondering what the Jules Rimet trophy is doing in this photo? Was Bob part of the 1966 backroom staff? Or does it belong to Roger Hunt? http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/05/11/article-2323169-0006A09500000C1D-922_634x498.jpg
Feel sorry for Rafa having to try and keep the team competitive when working in that sort of atmosphere and being belittled and undermined. To think we were on our way to our second Champions league final in three years when those muppets took charge.
I think his biggest problem is the price we paid for him and that's not his fault. If we'd paid his true value of around £10m then he'd have had a decent first season as a squad player settling into the team. But for £20m you expect a player of Suarez's ability and that's our fault for overpaying.
Can you imagine the media outcry if Liverpool had won that game and Suarez had celebrated in front of Evra the way Evra did at the end of the match?! He was damned whatever happened and now the owners have hung him out to dry too. He'll now be wanting to leave in the summer and who can blame him? I sense that FSG are starting to believe the fans are a bit racist too and have fallen for the media sh!tsorm! Wouldn't bother me at all now if they did sell up and leave.
Maybe now would be a good time to start a campaign to get the Liverbird back on our shirts instead of that beer-mat logo that we've had since 1992 and never won the league wearing.
I'm not denying he's a c*nt and I'm glad to see him leave, but he deserves some credit for being one of the three to out-vote Hicks and Gillett when it came down to the crucial vote. If he had been a total snake he would have sided with H&G and we would have been in complete turmoil now. In some ways the fact he stood up to them when it mattered is more commendable because he was introduced by them and was there lackey. Hate just about everything else he did, particularly how he undermined Rafa (although he didn't do that on his own either) but I have to give him credit for voting for the best interests of the club when it really mattered.
If we can have a 20,000 seater Kop again then I'd be all in favour of staying at Anfield. Is that feasable? is it possible to re-route the road behind the Kop stand to allow that? Would be a very odd looking stadium if the Kop stays at 10,000 and the Centenary and Main Stands are built up in to the heavens...
