  1. You never see managers talking about other teams tactics if they're not working. When was the last time anybody saw a current Premiership manager come out and say, "You know Sunderland really should stop playing such a high line, because they're crap at it." Or, "Well Arsenal are a hell of a team, but they do spend a lot of time farting about on the edge of the area trying to fashion the perfect goal." Managers make comments about other teams, because they want to try and influence their style of play. You never want teams to give up their bad habits, and always want them to stop doing well.
  2. I remember when Arsenal played Fiorentins at Wembley in the Champions League, and despite Batistuta being injured, he slammed one into the top corner from 20 yards out. Hell of a player.
  3. I'd be very bothered. When we won the Treble, the FA Cup was the one I wanted us to win the most. I love sitting down at the end of the season to watch the final, and for it to be us is always special.
  4. The thing is I'd quite like to see Curbs be given the cash and opportunity at a bigger club, whereas I'd also quite like 'Big Sam' to rot down at Notlob pretending he's already at a big club.
  5. "liverpool spokesman" could very easily be someone with an opinion who lives in Liverpool. Just because the implication is there, doesn't mean the source is as assumed.
  6. Make half time extra special?

  16. I'm not directly comparing the achievements of the two managers, because its obvious Houllier blows Moyes out of the water. I'm comparing the experiences and expectations of the fans. Thats what it's relatice to. For us in the treble season, a success would, realistically, have been 4th place. We'd missed out the season beforehand. The year before that we'd not been in Europe at all. We hit 4th, but on the way we clocked up these 3 fantastic trophies as well. Last season for Everton success would have been surviving. The year before they'd escaped relegation by a point. Well the survived, but achieved beyond their wildest dreams. Thats what I'm talking about. It's the belief in the manager that is so similar. When Houllier started to falter, many of us thought it was just a blip and as he'd shown before, he'd fix it. Others thought his time was over. You must have seen the arguments on these boards, and between Liverpool fans out and about. The fan base was totally divided. Thats whats happening to Everton at the moment. Thats what I'm talking about.
  17. That would be my bet.

  20. I'm not, and have never slated or said a bad word against Houllier. I'm talking about the similarities between the situations. Look at Everton forums or talk to Everton fans, and they're split right down the middle as a group. Half think Moyes should go, the other half think he can turn it around. Half think he's taken the team as far as he can go, others think as he's done the job beforehand, he can find that form again. It's the Liverpool fans opinions on Houllier in a microcosm. Of course Houllier brought us far more trophies then Moyes could ever dream of doing for Everton, but it's all relative. After so long in the wilderness (I'm 22, I grew up during the Souness years) to win the Treble, was fantastic. For Everton after so long fighting relegation, to finish 4th and get into Europe was an immense achievement. Ok you can put our achievements in a cabinet and take pictures of them, but you see what I mean.
  21. He can do but he's not very good. Oh do you mean Kronkamp?
  22. Those faces in the background make it all worthwhile.
