  1. I imagine the match will be on 5 Live or 5 Live Extra tonight. There'll be a link for it off the BBC Sport website.
  2. I met an AEK Athens fan a little while ago, and we got talking about Greek football, and he said despite the rivalry between the two teams he thought our Kop Mosaic for the Olympiakos game was beautiful, and apparently went down very well all over Greece. He also said he hoped AEK stuffed Olympiakos next time in the league, but you can't have it all can you. RIP 21
  3. Thats about as attacking a lineup as we've had in a little bit. Is Riise injured or being rested? I thought it was odd that he was taken off against Chelsea, and pretty much expected him to start tonight.
  4. I don't think Didi and Xabi in the center works. Sissoko is just a monster who'll give our midfield energy and for all his qualities, I don't think Hamman will protect Alonso enough to allow him to get his passing going.
  5. Ah the next great Welsh striker. People surely don't make things up on the internet do they?
  6. Be interesting to see how this new ref does. Hopefully the next time he's featured on Meet the Referee it'll include the description "Was in charge of our 8-0 victory over Charlton at the Valley"
  7. Wash your mouth out with soap

  9. It was a stunning finish. Absolutely no backlift on it at all, and it flew past Reina. And I agree, the lob over Reina that was disallowed was an even better goal.
  10. 15. A wonderful set of players that played amazing football. A sad waste.
  16. Thats awful, and if the news was deliberately kept from Lua Lua then thats absolutely appalling.
  17. Any chance of including Litmanen in that list. Can you imagine what Rafa could do with Jari Litmanen upfront, it would be a thing of beauty.

  19. It was when Sissoko was running with the ball at his feet in the first half. Must have gone maybe 15-20 yards or so, and the ball was just bouncing around all over the place. Ok Momo's control at times is a little wayward, but its not that bad.
  20. "And quite interestingly Mark, every single game up to and including this one have been started from the center spot, which I'm sure you'll agree is a quite phenomenal record."
  21. I can just see the opening game now. Germany V Costa Rica, with Motson commentating. "And here we are now, kicking off the World Cup, oh and ROOOONNNNEEEYYYYY is in the stands watching."
  22. Yes we need reinforcements upfront and we're not scoring enough goals, but look at it this way. I think it was during the United game, Martin Tyler pointed out that our team plus Ruud and Rooney would be a League winning 11, and he's right. We've got an excellent team now, up to our strikeforce, who are doing a job, but could all do better. Strikers are probably the most expensive players to try and acquire, if you don't score goals you don't win games, and goals cost money. Now in the summer, I expect the vast majority of our cash will go on buying strikers because we're not in bad shape at all else where. We are very very close to having an excellent starting 11. We need a right winger, and we need more goals. We're still in the FA Cup, and the European Cup (a competition that really suits our strikers and our method of playing), and can still finish 2nd in the league. Theres the potential there for a nice amount of money come the end of the season. We know we're not scoring enough, Rafa knows it, our strikers surely know it. Come the summer things will undoubtedly change, so whilst there's plenty of reasons to feel depressed and disappointed with recent results, the season isn't over yet, and next season will be very different.
