  1. His confidence is low, and he needs the support of the fans and the players to get him through it.
  2. I agree. Tonight his movement, chasing down, link up play, passing etc were all excellent, but he's lacking in confidence at the moment. Being the best fans in the world we of course know that the best way to build a players confidence is to put the boot in repeatedly. If you want to pick on a world class striker who was f***ing abysmal tonight, I'd suggest people looked at Thierry Henry, despite the fact that apparently he's scored every chance he's ever got ever.
  3. He was pretty poor at the start of the season, and in the Super Cup Final he was shocking, but over the weeks just before his injury he was looking very good indeed. Playing well, making chances, linking up with the strikers well.
  4. I'd not heard about that cash incident. Top man Jamie!
  5. Chelsea will do United. It's their last home game of the season, they'll be wanting to sign off in style.

  10. I didn't say he couldn't score goals, I simply said I believe he is to restrictive in his play. You're right about the entertaining. That league game against Blackburn was fabulous. Also Liverpool have scored 31 goals. You've also conceeded 27. Congratulations, you've nearly conceeded as many goals as we've scored.
  11. I'm afraid our survey says yes. But just for the record, Van Nistelrooy is a fine striker with a great goal ratio, but he forces you to play a very specific type of football. You were a better team with better striking options with Cole and Yorke up front then with Ruud. Rooney is an excellent player, but I think he'd do better with a different striking partner as well. And yes a thread started by a United fan started simply for backslapping self gratification is irreverent nonsense.
  12. Nope I think I've found the thread for irreverent nonsense
  13. Ah you're right. Things always go much better when you just follow simple mantras. Altogether now... We will not be up s*** creek when the money runs out Our central midfield is world class Ferguson has not spent the past 5 years trying and failing to replace Roy Keane We are not for sale Europe is for chumps Our central defense is not absent minded and clumsy Football started in 1992. Hey you're right I feel much better.
  14. Absolutely nothing, but I just thought if we were posting random and pointless information I'd join in.
  15. Muhammed Ali. 61 fights, 56 wins. 37 knockouts. Fantastic boxer, one of the greatest ever.
  16. Always had a lot of time for Arsenal. Their unbeaten season, they played football like I'd never seen before, it was beautiful.

  18. No when Villa, Boro and Fulham have won more then us there are problems. When Villa, Bolton and Fulham are above us in the table there are problems. We're playing football the wrong way? Firstly, it seems to have done us alright so far this season. Secondly, I imagine Rafa will keep his own counsel on how to best play football, I'm not sure of it myself but I heard a rumour that he's got a few trophies to back it up. Thirdly, we were never going to win the league this season, I was as optimisitic as everyone else, but realistic at the same time. We're building a hell of a team here, and we're very close to doing the business, next season I think will be very different, but this year our goal was 2nd place, cut the points on Chelsea and do well in all the cups. So far this season, we're in reach of second, we've cut the points on Chelsea, and we're doing well in all the cups. Playing football the wrong way.
  19. Hmm Liverpool go through a slightly dodgy run, but have big games against Arsenal, Man United and Benefica coming up in all three competitions, and suddenly stories are appearing in the press about the captain? Am I being slightly paranoid, or does this sound very much lipe the normal operating proceedure of a club that got t****** by Boro at the weekend?
  20. He signed a new contract?

  23. Argh we're stuck in a time warp!
  24. Get used to it, its already started and I expect to see lots more posts slating any and all of our strikers, and likely any other players, in an attempt to build Fowler up. Robbies a big boy now I'm sure he can take care of himself. If the situation had been reversed and the Keeper had saved from Fowler, I suspect we'd be reading a fair few posts about how the cross was rubbish and left him with to much to do. Oh and there was nothing wrong with Fowler's cross, it got into the right area and Morientes was on the end of it, but it was a difficult chance to take with the way the ball was curving in and dropping. He could have put it either side of the keeper, but he didn't, the keeper pulled off a very good save.
