Completley agree with this, so much so instead of letting other people do it i'm setting up my own under 8's team now,as i'm sick of what i'm seeing week in week out. Not an easy process, sorting out affiliation, taking the relevant child protection courses, kits, training gear, training location, club code of conduct , a lot more to it than i thought if your going to do it properly. I'm going to aim for charter standard within 18 months. A Level 1 coaching course is £145 , you can get get that within a few weeks if everyone is contributing as they should and all parents want to see the club and their children develop. Before you can take the course you have to pass the relevant child protection and welfare officer courses but the FA are currently funding these so all that costs is a few hours in time of an evening. Any advice on pitfalls i may look to avoid are welcome. How's your team getting on ?
