Agreed. Or just ignore bookings completely as you're actually allowed to get one yellow card in a game. Because players shouldn't miss games because of yellow cards. Especially not for "common" fouls leading to a booking. I've hated this rule for a long time. (But it's especially irritating now since Iceland doesn't have the depth in the squad to deal with it )

Found this on uefa's site. Article 48.04 of the official regulations: Single cautions from matches in the final tournament expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals. This is bulls***

So two yellow cards in 5 games means players lose out on the biggest game so far of their career. What a ridiculous rule... (I've decided Iceland is going to win the tournament)

Anyone have an idea about how yellow cards are treated at the euros? Is Iceland going to lose half their team to suspensions when they make it to the semi-finals? Or is there a sort of amnesty at some point?

Yup - it's been a problem for England for a long time. Hopefully they get someone with a strong enough personality to actually just put out the best team possible rather than the most popular 11 players according to the press. And now about 50% of Icelanders are waiting in the queue on uefa.com for tickets! (might be overstating it a bit but you get the point)

Yeah, we were also able to push our defence up some so we didn't end up parking the bus like we did in the first games in the tournament. Seemed to be a bit more freedom about the players yesterday - while still sticking to the quite rigid plan that has been set up.

England under Hodgson is always underperfoming. BUT Iceland was quite frankly the better team and was more likely to score than England was. Iceland showed what happens when you put the team ahead of the individuals. We don't play the "better" players or the "bigger" names. We have what is arguably our best goalscorer on the bench and the pride of the nation as well (Eiður). We don't try to shoehorn them into the team because they are both lacking in the areas that make the team stronger. As England has always been my team at the big tournaments before Iceland made it I just hope that you hire the best manager available - regardless of his nationality - and that that manager creates the strongest team rather than trying to fit all the stars on the pitch to keep the media and fans happy. Oh... and Iceland won yesterday. Just thought I'd remind you of that. *dun dun* HUH!

Every Icelandic player is underrated because of the nation he's from. They might not be world class but they're all extremely good team players. And someone stop cutting onions in here!!!
